Kind of Painless... not sure about those felt pads.... have you tried Sass's remedy for sticking turrets?...just wondering because if you say the turret is scoring the plastic sliders... then it might snag on the felt

Correct on the rest ...though you should take your time...no sense rushing this one

Good Afternoon Alpha,
The turret wasn't sticking so much as indenting the plastic. Those plastic sliders are thin so that's a no-go. The felt sliders have dual properties. They are thick and the thin rim of the Torro KV-2 turret can indent a path into the felt and still gain a little height off of the turret track as well. That heavy turret moves like it is on ball bearings now and there is none of the forward dip or bobble I have seen with some KV-2 builds. To be safe, I had performed a light sand with 1000 to remove any roughness on the bottom of the turret ring before I remounted it to the deck and that helped a bit I believe. Looking forward to painting it now.

The KV-2 is prepped and primered tonight. I also did some decal work on the Tetra fire extinguisher and those two metal helmets. Pictures:

OH.................... thought the felt might snag... it is just fibers lol.... so does the torro have a groove ? I imagine it like the resin one I used where it's totally flat.... ....man did that sucker jerk as it turned... used Sass's method... just because it sits so well

Good Morning, Alpha,
The Torro turret has kind of a stepped bottom on it. It sits down into the turret race like normal but where all the tanks I have used before have the flat ring like your resin one, this tank has a thinner ring that rides on the bearing surface of the deck. It is very solid and hard and if you look at photos I took of the deck while working on it, you can see where the ring was already wearing the paint away. No problem, the felt pads corrected that and the turret sits very snugly now. There are only two screws to attach it as Torro's toothed ring is modified from a HL and doesn't use the third screw. The fire extinguisher decals come from Archer. ;o)
