The chef in red did not have any Oban--I did the night before, Christmas Eve. The chef does make a superb bourbon Old Fashioned, even smoked with apple wood (on purpose). He made those for his mother and me on Christmas Day.
The fire was likely in the grease catch pan. The meat actually turned out quite good, pulled from the blaze as medium rare.

Were you cooking outside. Or did said fire commence inside to start with and was removed outside to deal with?
