Ive also made the front light mounting bracket . I have a photo of the Panther A at a show and it shows a metal ring for the light to slide into . I also have some other photos of this in books . I have altered the stock HL light to fit into this by removing the plastic mounting bar and replacing it with a better scaled metal one . The light has no LED in it or power . Im undecided if to fit this or leave it as a damaged light ?

The mounting point ?

I have also fitted a Tamiya Panther G metal barrel with the stock plastic muzzel break . This is just push fit at the moment until I can decide on the best recoil method .

I do keep looking at the lower front plate with the two angles and thinking if I could alter the gears so this can be one flat piece ?

This picture just shows a Tamiya Panther G turret on my HL Pantiger conversion . I think to be honest it needs reducing in width by another 5mm as the turret sits incorect . Its to far gone now to alter this but I may in time do another HL Panther A conversion using the Tamiya turret . Also to fit this I would have to use the HL stock mantlet which is to wide for the Tamiya turret so more alterations

Image

It doesnt look to far out but I think the turret outmost points shoud be closer to the outside line of the body also the rear of the turret doesnt lign up correctly with the engine grilles .

Its looking very good Andy, looks mean with the barrel in! ;) I think you could use the Tamiys turret for another project and get one of the new Panthers next.
Cant wait to see more.

Hi Rik , Thanks for your comments ,yer Ive got a HL IR Panther G on order with Dave . But id buy another pantiger and make another Ausf. A version using the Tamiya turret . I have learnt a lot from doing my one . I also have a complete set of Tamiya Panther G road wheels so I wont have to stick all those bolts on again and they do look a lot better than my ones . Im thinking of getting another Pantiger as they will be giving them away soon now the Panther Gs out .

I have been adjusting and re fitting the spare track holders today . As I have obtained some correct scale Tamiya Panther track links .Picture to follow . I need to make the barrel travel lock next . I have the base part made just need to make the upright part and the actual locking piece . I havent realy thought on how to do this yet .

I have had a go at the rear jack holder today again I realise the end nuts not accurate , I have been reaserching this and seen some holders with a flat plate at the bottom and bracket at the top on the exhaust mounting bar , some with brackets top not on exhaust mounting bar and bottom . some with bracket s top on exhaust mounting bar and one at the bottom

Here is some pictures of the spare track mounts . They have the pins with chain fitted ( one missing on one side and the other side all missing as ran out of chain :/ ) . The track links are from a Tamiya Panther G , I just drilled a hole throught the guide lugs as per the original links.

Im open to advice please on the rear tow cable mounting pin . I originaly made it shorter but after putting the spare tracks on and comparing pictures in my books . Which all clearly show how the tow cable uses this pin and hangs over the spare tracks ?

Heres just a few picts with some of the tooling back on . Next job is the barrel travel lock and just sort the turret out as Im not 100% happy with the rear but I think this is probally the best it will be but im still looking into it :eh:

I have made the barrel travel lock today , with the exception of the locking chain . I have to figure that out yet . I used styrene and brass . Please note I have now turned round the curved piece and added the chain . It might not be 100% acurate but its not to bad.
