Lovely work!
That gun travel lock looks so much better. Are you going to apply the camo to the barrel?

Thanks, Jim. Brrrr. The recent Arctic wind we've had would make a gelding of anyone wearing a kilt (unless that person happened to be a woman, of course

).

I had been considering it, Adam. Thing is, I'm not sure what shade was used.
It looks sort of creamy...

I'm also tempted to put some casting numbers on the glacis, and to make some tie-downs to go between the two applique hatch hood armour plates. Quite a few of the 1Cs appear to have had them. My priority is to get it running, before contemplating any more detail, though.
The wee Tamiya kit is interesting, as it comes with alternate fittings for the rear panel: one with a tow hook, and another without. I read somewhere, that many of the 1c Fireflies had no tow hook, or British style leaf-spring towbar fitted. I may leave that detail out. It also has alternate front applique armour fittings, and tools for the rear panel.

Merci, Fred! Yes, I know all about the 'too many projects' syndrome. That's why I have tried to focus on actually
finishing one, or two

The remainder will be left in my will for future generations.

or, I shall dictate instructions via a ouija board

43rdRR,
Best part of this entire Sunday!

By the way, the Firefly is awesome! Can't wait to see a video of it in action!
Cheers,
Eric.

Good afternoon!
When did you steal Colorado's Spring weather? More of that white stuff coming in tonight. All we need now is a Splendid Sherman like yours, Roy! Top Drawer, Sir!
regards,
Painless

Many, many thanks, Eric and Painless. Yes, I did see a mention of Colorado's Arctic Spring in World news, Painless. Boulder, apparently, had its snowiest Winter on record. Perfect for those with model snowploughs and snow-blowers, of course. I imagine, though, that it's as well to be equipped with the grown-up versions.
Painting the model has been hampered by extremes of weather (the norm in the world these days, it seems). I have nowhere suitable indoors to paint, even with a mask (that would be unfair on the woofers).- and the shed is just too cold for lacquer at the moment.
In Jan/February, it was so dry and sunny up here (19c one day) that fires broke out on the braes and moorland.

That was when sunny Spain had temps of -20c and huge snowdrifts...
Now it's colder than it was at Christmas

, and I could have sworn I saw an Iceberg drifting by on the Loch the other day, with some confused-looking Polar bears on board.
No doubt, May will bring biblical pests and extreme heat...
Anyway, we just keep calm- and carry on

In order to please Adam,

, I've added some barrel camouflage- and it's not easy to do, in case you're minded to hide the lights of your own Firefly barrel under a bushel, so to speak.
Here are some examples I based my attempt upon, and bear in mind it might need a final coat of paint for a clearer wavy line.

Needless to say- I wasn't going to attempt what appears to be extreme 'circumcision' on this disguised 1c hybrid barrel:

The barrel paint job by this Polish crew, isn't quite as neat as mine, I'd say. Quite what they're doing, I can only guess...certainly some measuring going on, though.

Here's an interesting site I found on the Firefly, and the barrel disguise.

...and now to my modest effort. Lovely sunny day here in the Highlands today, by the way, and the polar bears have shoved off, on their much diminished ice floe...
