i did see something similar. I was not sure how thick they were and whether they would stand too proud of the surface.

I have used them and they are quite thin.

A little more done. Working on detail seems to take a very long time, and I get the feeling there's not much to show for it at the end. The rear left is now complete (I think).
I did wonder, as I was trying to hand paint labels on to 1/16 scale champagne bottles that I might be taking things a bit too far, but in a perverse sort of way, I enjoy it.
It may not be up to the standard of other work to be found on here, but it does make it my own.

Yes. It's looking most excellent Richard
The dusty and chipped cabinets look like the real ones! Any chance of a champagne glass?

I could use a taste

S.S.1947,
I like it! You can even make the ribbon 3D if you want. Following along.

I need a bit of a reminder please. When I get home tomorrow I am proposing to start the external weathering. I seem to recall a recommendation to give the hull a coat of satin or gloss varnish before trying to pin wash or streak it. Then when finished, a final coat of matt. Have I got it right.?

Many recomend gloss varnish, I have to say I've never been brave enough!

I only use a matt seal as used by artists to seal paintings. Its never clouded or done anything strange, and enables solvent based weathering products to go on without problem.
No way im brave enough to try a gloss
I just hit the tank with a hair drier to warm it(if sealing at night in winter here) or just outside for 5 mins then give it an even coat.
