Those periscope units look great. I could do with some for my Cromwell. I only have three metal ones at the moment (ordered four..and they didn't arrive, and then got three, eventually). I though I might use one to form a mould and then make the other two periscopes I need from resin; but if you could print four out, that would make me a very happy Spring bunny! :D (With appropriate recompense for you, of course)

Used up the old paint I had lying around doing a base coat, its all just brush painted, so the next step is airbrushing a top coat. Tracks are on their way, once I have them, I can align the gearboxes and nail them down. Will need to order a few shades of weathering oils to finish it, and make some accessories eg rope, tools, boxes and tarps. Once/if( :crazy: ) it is running properly I can do the side covers for the tracks.

Tracks should be here soon, courtesy of Forgebear. Got some proper paint on it now, need to paint the tyres matt black today. If this build did one thing it was to force me to set up the printer properly, I am already wondering what to build next?

Lord!, that Beauty from a Printer. We are living in a Sci-Fi Age indeed. You have the 3D gig mastered, W.W. What to do next? How about a real challenge? A set of 1/30 scale Sherman Tank T49 tracks. *chuckles*

Tracks can be done, I did some, but getting them strong enough and neat enough isn't really worth the bother when HL alternatives are available. It's the pins and holes that cause the problems as they are so small.

The PIII tracks arrived today, and as I thought they might, they go out of synch with the sprocket teeth midway round. I'll now have to tweak the sprocket teeth design to get them to fit. It could be that I printed new ones on the new printer, and the micro difference between the print size has caused the problem.
