Accessories, Anyone?
Re: Accessories, Anyone?
I thought about a new thread for this, or maybe putting it in the crew member thread, but my figures have accessories, too, and this is the accessories thread ...
Besides, I think it's a cool trick and I use it all the time.
I got a couple more new items yesterday, but more are coming so I'm gonna get lazy and do them all at once.

Re: Accessories, Anyone?
Good afternoon,
Nice trick, Max! Very nicely done MG. ;o) The USPS delivered today and the Merit 15cm came in that I had been awaiting. The company makes this gun in a pre-built version as well but that is without the Limber so I had ordered the kit version and it is really nice and complete. This will be a fun build and look great out in the tank park later on this year. Pics:

Wow. Wow. Again. Wow. Absolutely don't believe it. My Merit 15cm Howitzer kit will be here tomorrow. Did the RC Tank Gods touch us both at the same time? What else have you ordered, Painless? A blue 1940 BMW 325? A '40 Ford? A '34 Ford stake side pick up? A '37 Studebaker pick up? A 1/16 kit of the 1936 Mercedes Benz 540K? A gray G4? I was going to wait until they all arrived to say anything, but if you're expecting even one of those items I'll have to call in Molder and Scully to investigate.

Max! ;o)
No, my Friend, I ordered one of those Citroen Traction 11 Sedans today tho' ;o) I do already have a new G4 in gray and a Mercedes 770K Saloon but no 540K ;o) I figured I had better beef up the Allied running stock after ordering the two Mercedes and the VW earlier. Speaking of German stock, did you see that Tamiya's 1/16 Kubelwagen kit is on sale on EBay again. I am considering whether or not to get one since they are kinda pricey. What I really want one is of those 1/16 M16 Halftracks to show off against the 251 once it is finished. Looking forward to pics of your next Swag haul, Doc. ;o)
regards,
Painless

Re: Accessories, Anyone?
Painless I am pleased that you are getting a Citroen Traction Avant,
I did a bit of searching for military markings as fitted to these cars, if you can expand on an Engineer or a Wermacht car I would be very interested. Don't misunderstand me I mean either Allied or Axis forces, I think I saw something referring to the Free French Forces but there doesn't look like there is much out there.
Shaun.

Dr. Shaun!
Do you remember, Sir, earlier last year when I got that Parisian plated Citroen sedan and outfitted it with a platoon of Wehrmacht heavy weapons guys? I found out that the year of make for that car is in the 50's. ( looks great so I am not going to complain ;o) Supposedly, this Citroen Traction 11 Avant represents an actual 1938 version of the car. We will see once it arrives and I can compare it to the earlier car.
regards, my Friend,
Painless

Re: Accessories, Anyone?
Thanks for that Sir,
When You and Jackalope and Gary poisoned my mind to regaining my interest in Die Cast Automobiles
and having been told where to look, one of the first cars I came upon was an early 50s T/A and I assumed that was all I would find of the type but I scrolled on and that's when I found the 1938 T/A and £20 cheaper as well with Freepost
As a child, a loving uncle bought me a Corgi/Dinky Bentley with windows, and if you pressed down STEERING,
I lost interest in that form of modelling and if I did think about it I made the (Wrong) assumption that Die Cast Modeling had not progressed since those times,
Sometimes being wrong is not all bad.
The detail is quite exquisite in some of the 1/18 products so once more thank you.
Shaun.

Good morning, Shaun,
For your general amusement: "That's right. It's time to return the rental Mercedes...Welcome to your 'Peoples' Car!" ;o)

Re: Accessories, Anyone?
Painless, I'm now convinced that there are no psychic forces in play here. You see, I was completely convinced your G4 was black, and I was just saying to Jack (his is black and at the time I thought yours was, too) that it would be cool if, between the three of us, we had all three colors. Well, I guess I blew it, because I ordered mine in gray as well, but had I known yours was gray I would've ordered the white. Doh!
As for the kubels, yes, I've seen kits on ebay but just the Rommel version with the balloon tires. I also have the stock RC version that i got a couple years ago and haven't seen since. Wow, just found a good one. I'll PM ya.
I've got two of the Torro halftracks and they are very cool, but the range sucks. 30 feet if you're lucky. One of these days I'll put a better board in them and get them on better TX/RX combos, too, but it's not a high priority right now. They look great in pics and vids just the way they are. I'm pretty sure Commander Bob still sells them, and they used to be right around $250.
Shaun, it's good to see you re-discovering how much fun it can be discovering cool die cast stuff. As for poisoning your mind, I have not yet begun to poison! I have you on my list of guys that truly need a serious tank park, and that means if you keep hangin' out with me, before you know it I'll have you searching for doll house stuff!! The things we can do with buildings are pretty amazing. Right now Jack is helping me brainstorm up a pair of remote control searchlights for the watch tower. The best is yet to come, my friend.

Max, didn't the wreck firetruck you got have its spotlights.
The are quite large and being plastic could be easily modified into working search lights.
