Good afternoon. Thank you, sir. I'm following a few of Bob Steinbrunns detail ideas from his Build. I also have access to parts that did not exist when he did his Stuart so keep watching for neat stuff to show up. I'm currently awaiting lower hull dress up items from Armor Pax over on your side of the Atlantic. A shout out to those guys! Reasonable prices for amazing *must-have* parts for 1/6 builders.

Tonight saw the lower hull cleaned out save for the gearboxes. (I would rather not move those since they are in alignment and the motors can be removed separately.) The old RX and MFU along with the paper cone 8 ohm speaker were stored away. I spent lunch today researching new electronics ( again ). I found some drop in motors on another Stuart builders site that are six pole 600 BB with built in resistors. Once the spline gear is swapped out, they will make the Stuart roughly twice as fast. I will get a new 12 volt battery and stick with that since the motors only pull 7 amps. The MFU is still an article of research. Any 10 channel RX that plugs in via pins will work for 2.4 ghz range. After that, time was spent looking at sealing up the big speaker grill and deciding if I want to paint the inside flat white. More to come. This build is gaining momentum every day.

Ah, if only it were so. Post came in yesterday with the first Armor Pax shipment. I am very pleased by the quality of the metal and resin parts. Today, I sourced out the sheet styrene and a punch and die set which will be used ( along with those lovely brass bolts from a couple of posts back ) to detail out the bottom of the lower hull. For actual work done, I lined out the plastic to be removed on the rear of the lower ( those pieces which formed the sidewall of the sand skirts back there ). I was able to assemble and remount the return rollers as well. I am satified that the bits and bobs located work great and help the 21st Century stuff resemble the real tank parts. Paint will see them finished soon enough. Pics:

Sassgrunt turned me on to an issue with the RC Stuart return rollers mounting shafts and the vinyl tracks with the correct guidehorns. On the inner side of the track run, the guidehorns are 1/16 too long to clear the return roller mounting shaft. The track gets raised up on that side. So, thinking cap is on. Sassgrunt is sending me a couple of solid return rollers with his take on the fix for this. I will end up using bearings and replicating it on the other four return roller shafts. Pics to come. For now, new tools from China today. ;o)

An important box of Stuart material came in from Sassgrunt out on the Big Island last Friday. I was three minutes late to the Post Office then and was told to return today (since everything was already shut down) Oh well. At least today came around and time allowed me to get into the lower hull seriously. I see how Mike did his Return Roller shaft mod and I think I can do the same thing on this tank. A little plastic work on existing shafts will be needed to make it look half arsed accurate. I think I can pull that off. *chuckles* Pics:

What a fabulous build so far! Armourpax does some some awesome.stuff, it should comment your build nicely. The engineering going into the return rollers looks nice too!

Thank you, Doc. This build is finally making real progress after long months of part searching, research and other interim Builds. It is a pleasure to work on since this scale is so large. Conversely, I will have to decide what level of detail I am satisfied with so far as opening hatches, bolts, and moving exterior parts go. I'm using Bob Steinbrunns build book as inspiration so expect some level of extra detail out of me on it.
