Oh yes! I always do a once over with putty before I prime the tank. I check drill outs and rough spots and sanded areas since initial putty applications always dry and shrink. Thanks for spotting those, Doc. I'll get around to them. ;o)

Nothing in the post today so it was a kinder, gentler, machine gun night. The metal Tamiya barrel intended for LED use required drill out of the rear mg ball and armored collar with the yankee drill and a 5/64 bit for the barrel then a follow up with the 1/16 bit for the gas tube underneath. Up front, the HL\Taigen type mg fixture had to have the stub intended for use with a basic HL type 'black stick' barrel removed to the face of the mg 'mantlet' then another 3/16 inch drill out with the 5/64 to reach the LED. I measured this with a thin rod to make sure that I wasn't cutting or damaging the LED. As placement might vary with HL or Taigen or from tank to tank, I advise careful measurement for anyone doing this mod on the KV hull mount mg. Up front, I just sanded then glued the nub of the gas collector tube to the underside of the metal barrel and the face of the mg mantlet. This was after I trimmed the metal barrel mounting tube ( which is noticeably thicker in diameter than the actual barrel portion ) down to the aforementioned 3/16". Pictures:

Yes I believe that they did. They reused the Radio equipment if it was working inside the tank and switched it out for their own if it was faulty. ;o)

Spent the weekend painting tools and detail bits to try to get ready to primer. I did get the tank put back together and tested to see if everything still worked. Good to go. At this point, besides some minor figure and antenna work, all that is left is paint, lettering and weathering. Pics:

I think that I have your iconographic method of communication mostly figured out. Overall pleased with the work so far but not happy that it is not in primer yet. I will get to it this evening after the work day is done. ;o)
