Hi What Scale is That 5th Wheel You Have On the Chassis in Pics I'm Looking For a 5th Wheel For My 1/16th jjrc truck Cheers MalcWill01Capri wrote:Ok so i know this is not strictly WPL truck related, but it did start it all off for me haha.
I have been quiet recently as i working on a commision build, this truck is just bonkers
The truck cab inside has 3d printed custom roll cage with cross bracing and will help give strength back to the truck cab which is cut up. I have reclined the seats inside and will set back the steering wheel with a mad driver.
Flip front cab to allow access tohidden electronics.
Need a cheap smoker if anyone has got good ideas as i need to smoke these exhausts up. 2nd hand?
Also need cheap sound emulator, should i get a das mikro??
This build is on very tight budget.
Wheels 3D printed custom
Tyres 1/14 Tamiya truck
Axles off a 4x4 crawler & 2 speed gearbox
Mounted mad brushless motor with esc.
Have Tamiya light kit for it aswell
Drive is 6x4 only. The front axles is free wheel but the whole suspension setup my own design
5th wheel is not my design, but only to get idea of mockup. It needs to be larger, plus i am almost there with my own design 5th wheel to work in conjunction with servo.
Plus it can swivel and rotate on 2 axis so should be cool for offroad capabilities also

Hi Thanks for the info , also do you know where I can purchase one ? thanks MalcWill01Capri wrote:The 5th wheel is scaled to fit nicely with the WPL trucks. It is closer to 1/16th scale, whereas the WPL type trucks are really not 1/16, they closer to 1/18.
As for the Crawlers like the Toyota it is closer to 1/13.5 and the MAN Kat1 truck is smaller again than 1/18.
Hopefully that clears it up a little about the scale of what these trucks are
I have to say i cannot sell the one in the picture as that was a trial i printed as a favour for someone.maltins wrote:Hi Thanks for the info , also do you know where I can purchase one ? thanks MalcWill01Capri wrote:The 5th wheel is scaled to fit nicely with the WPL trucks. However i am working on a servo actuated one myself which is all my design and i hope to test prints sometime in next few weeks.
If it works out how i expect i wouldn't mind printing off if you are interested.
