This coming on fantastically. Getting ideas for my own build. Then I do steal ideas from others.

I "borrow", "stealing" sounds so negative, and I try to remember to credit the originator.

Some progress but none of it pic worthy.
With the plastic side skirts removed it’s about thinning the edges and cleaning up the surface ready for the new ones.
Intend to recover the flap joiner and apply them over the sections as the original ones were.
Green plastic debris and the handy vac , for a while yet !! :/

Green plastic debris? You mean the stuff that files off where you don't want it to, and doesn't where you've been filing for the past 7 minutes?
My condolences...

Mike.

Dont worry Mr Mithras, the big mudguard isn't off yours !!!!

I had one from my Syrian T72 project that as we do, I hung on to just in case.........
Spent some time basically shaving the skirt joiners off all the plastic skirt offcuts and from my stash. They are harder to harvest than a good organ :shh:
Attached the new material by a good dose of gel super glue and backed with a section of styrene angle just to reinforce the edges.
Intend to slice each section in position once they are really set, and trim the lower edge to meet the right height.
Theeeeeeen, add the joiners to each section.
Its going to be worth it for the look I reckon !.....it looks like scale rubber and if it takes paint for a little while and wears off after running, the look will be even better.
The black base will not disappear so the green and desert cam colour if scraped will take on an authentic hue.
