Here's a video of the process in action and the design.

Its got a place for sure, but why oh why not a genuine 1/16th '251 ??!!

Surely the world wide market would absorb more German half tracks than trucks !!

While I agree with you unfortunately we have to remember that Heng Long does not sell R/C Armour for Hobbyists they are Toymakers and Toy sellers and 1/16 r/c trucks will sell to any boy of 3 years upward but a German Halftrack will hold little interest except for people like us.
And for anyone who does not know Heng Long recently lost most of the product design team to a competitor which is why they have bought the truck we are all ordering from another toymaker until they can get up and running ready to produce a Centurion or a 251 or whatever fantasy r/c product you are wishing for.
Shaun.

I'm not sure they bought these trucks from someone else. I think it's more likely that they bought one and copied it and now they're just making clones. The Chinese are famous for that.

I would love a 1/16th scale 251 for a reasonable price. Thing though is that a halftrack like the 251 would take some serious engineering to get right, specifially the steering. It's more intricate than the short-track, rubber-band style of the M2 halftrack Torro offers

Oh, who? Is the market gonna shift to another player in the market?

I was under the impression the design team had left to go to other companies rather than a single one.

I've been asking for a 1/16 251 that didn't require the sale of either of my kidneys to afford.
Ludwig now lists a 251 kit but it's cost prohibitive for me.

And I've been whinin' for a deuce and a half since I first got into the hobby (only about 5 years ago, but it seems longer). Or a jeep. Or a good Kubelwagen (the Tamiya is OK, but needs a lot of work). Or an ambulance. Or just about any soft skinned support vehicles!! A good tank park just seems naked without them.
