Good catch on your part. And out of metal, too! You certainly have a knack for working with materials that few of us attempt to build in. It's a shame that you had to paint over all your hard work, but it looks great!!
Hey MIke... thanks again for all the support advice and other more tangible contributions to this build... it would have never happened if it were not for that FoV hull...Though full of it's own adventure... this build turned out to be one of my favorites... not because of the final result... but because of all the techniques I had to revisit to make it all possible ....as everything.. I mean everything required thought and planning before taking the next step small as that step might have been
It isn't as prototypical as some rivet counters might want it to be... but it's a very satisfying result for me

Now with that said.... this one had to go under paint... with all the different materials combined on this build... it didn't look anywhere as clean as the Kv2 ...which I still haven't painted :haha:

Many Mahalos Mike

Well since this part was part of the building of this SHERMAN...here are a few more pictures of what I had accomplished last night....the time frame was not bad for these two items... the materials were basically free... as most of the tubing used came from HENG LONG ....one is the standard tank antenna.. and the tubing is from a broken transmitter :D

both designs are adaptations from a schumo parts add for the 1/35 scale SHERMAN while googling around :haha:
and also being that I'm poor and a tad short on patience ;) ....I decided to make my own... :D
I didn't create the main antenna right away... as it required a decent plan of attack to make and assemble it ....found the extendable aerial from the transmitter was a perfect candidate ... as all the tubes are pre fit ....so I cut two of each of the three extending top ... soldered a wire onto one of the tiny tubes... slid it through the standard tank antenna then soldered the other end of the wire to a piece of brass stock... and shoved it into the bottom of the stainless tank antenna..which was centered on the top with a pair of pliers then took the rest of the tubes ...slid them on for detail..and superglued them in place

The commanders antenna was made with the second thinnest tube from the top of the transmitter aerial .. with a dremel carbide cutter I cut three slots lengthwise...then bent and flared them out to create the "tulip" shape...got a piece of brass tubing stock and soldered the entire assembly together ...then soldered a wire to the bottom... drilled holes in my turret... now I have two more "live" antennas in place

A bird's eye view of the final result

Not a Sherman-man , but the top bunch of 'Sherm's' displayed have the quintessential look that defines the marque and the versatility of design. The devil as is said is in the detail...............and you guys(you know who you are), by doing these Shermans, are indeed manifestations of the Devil's-Incarnate.!
"A ccurate- R epresentations of A rt" ergo = ART ists........ I love em.

:haha: :haha: :haha: Actually at one time I had several... not sure where they all went... might have gone out with the trash... wasn't thinking all that much about how they could be recycled ...fortunately I still have a few I was able to locate in another box of debris :D
The dark shadow that looms .. is I don't have much of the main component... the stainless stock tank antenna...reason I tried to describe how to make them in the best way I could... so.............. NO ORDERS WILL BE TAKEN... everyone is on their own :haha: :haha: :haha:

GOOD ONE HERMAN ;) :haha:
