Mind blowing... The engineering, fabrication, and attention to detail on this build are incredible. There is a lot to process in this thread, but so many valuable ideas that its well worth coming back to time and again. Well done, good sir.

Finally…..an update!
Well what happened was…..in January of last year my youngest daughter and her “other” split and she moved back home. I had to move a bunch of my “stuff” from her bedroom into my “mancave” and quite literally I had little room just to move around. Not conducive to modeling at all. I managed to get a little done from time to time but it really affected my “mojo”.
All the stuff seen in these pictures was crammed into my space.
My space now looks like this. You can visualize what the space looked like with all that stuff in my space.
Well, she moved out 3 weeks ago and after spending 2 weeks getting everything rearranged, I now have space to work “again” and managed to get the Turret and Upper Hull primed and now can proceed with applying the Weld Beads. I am going to us Archer Resin Weld Decals for the large straight welds.
Here are a couple of pics of the primed parts.
TAFN,
Barry

Ah, the empty nest syndrome. Hopefully you can keep your territory “free range”.

Glad youre back mate
My Daughter recently moved out and away to marry a Soldier, so I've been using her room as a toy room for the little ones.
As for mojo, a quick trip to the "mother-Planet" should do wonders for you

Thanks Jimster and Herman!
No "empty nest" feelings here, she had been gone over 12 years, it was the refilling of the nest that was totally unexpected.
Yes Herman, a trip to the home world might be just what the "Giant Head" would prescribe!
All good now just need to get back into the "swing"!

I do have sympathy for your daughter, and I also understand your feeling, what, a bit cramped, not only in the mancave, but probably in other ways. However, your taking her in was important, admirable and understandable. Now, what scale is that Phantom? That looks like 1/18! Was there a 1/18 Phantom?

OMG! The Abrams of ultimate fiddly bits no longer shows construction details!
That means the project is almost complete!
Fri Jan 22, 2016 was the OP!
I wonder how many times you thought that this project may never get completed!
As for your working area, all I can say is what a ton of floor space! (My work area is small and messy...

Yes cramped all around. She is family and we will always be here for her.
The Phantom is 1/32 scale but there is a 1/18 F-14 and a F-16 hanging up there as well in the last pic of the room.

Hi Jarlath,
Yes, getting closer to complete.
Yes, it has been on going for 6+ years now!
I do "now" have lots of floor space (again) and a much more conducive work environment!!

A ha! Phantom
1/32, but
1/18 F14. You got me with "forced perspective." If you can do so well with that Phantom, how about the HK models 1/32 B17G? That could fly high (more forced perspective) over the RC AFVs.
