MrChef wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 9:47 pm Mr. Bix are you still using Jamie Oliver's torch to bend stuff or have you moved up to a heat gun?

Lookin good sir! keep it up.
I alternate between the Brulee burner and a heat gun now. Its horses for courses really. If I can remove plastic and replace with brass or ally to get the right twisted look, I do it.
Thanks for looking in mate, I genuinely appreciate it .
Hows your Panther going by the way ?

Hi Mr Bix.
A very nice well presented model, a labour of love with all that tedious detail you have added, the splash of colour really makes it pop..the addition of all the crews "junk" will make it looked lived in even more..
Sub.

Thanks for the kudos Mr Sub, but its a long way from the intricate "something from nothing" creations you seem to pull off.
I am eagerly anticipating the junk to arrive from the Print Ninja, and once it pulls in, things can really get nitty & gritty !!

Camo job looks great, Herman. What kind of weathering did you have planned?

Got the last few drawings I needed to do for you, a Type 56 with the underfolding bayonet and an ammo crate for two 100 mm shells.

I'll try to get them printed during the week. I don't want to hold you up!

No hold up Mr Ram, I just appreciate the creative intelligence that it takes to get such things into real life.

As for weathering, a simple tan for three-colour camo filter and light pigments here & there will do.
The reall feature is the stowage mess on the back.
Which due to the need to open the hull for battery changes means the layout needs to be secured in separate modules.
Theres a lot to be said in favor of the Heng Long under-hull battery compartment.

Oh, and the 100mm ammo crates will suit any WW2 Russian model with the relevant main gun.
I will have at least 5 of them for the T55 and SU100 I already have.

Just a light sponge chipping, scratching and a tan wash.
looking better already.
I have some tools on the front plate as in the period picture, not secured yet as I need more tools, but the look is about right.

I think it's coming along beautifully Herman, those pioneer tools are perfect! The chipping and worn edges look great, they add a lot of dimension to the surface details.
