I forgot to post the scad for the turret spacer and the lower filler piece, here they are:

Hmmm... If only I had the skills to modify an stl like that.....

Anyway here's the track cover support, and some milliput action to fix the front glassis




Wayne you will need some creative thinking on this one to fit your upper hull approach

So I'm intimidated by the thought of scratchbuilding some duffel bags with milliput, and here's this guy creating a masterpiece with the stuff.

Now I'm trying to plan the logistics of fitting the barrel and elevation/recoil servos. Just for Wayne - you will need some 8mm brass tube





This will be a tight and awkward fit! (and impossible if you haven't put in a roof opening in the turret)

Hi Wayne, you only need about 10cm but this is what I buy

I use gorilla glue (60ml) as it expands slightly when setting, as the brass tube is a slightly loose fit for the barrel

Making great progress Alwyn, it's a big beautiful beast already. You've captured the shape and bulk of it perfectly, it looks like the real deal. I'm looking forward to seeing it gunned up!

Following Wibbly's posting of his recovered Chieftain files, I am most gratefully updating (very slightly) his design and have printed it.

here it is



This is only possible due to the many hours Rob spent in recovering his files, otherwise much work would have been required to replicate it.


Of course there is still the issue of manufacturing the brass cage to go around the headlights and soldering is really not one of my strengths.....
