The smaller details now that make the sides of a KT busy.
Ive recovered some of the tools that were left over from my first KT build, and some that were along with the Tamiya when I got it.
Scraping all the old paint & weathering off them has been a challenge, but Im not one to just chuck them in the bin & donate overseas for new ones.
The imminent arrival of the fat guy in the red suit will prevent any level of proper progress, but at least its a lot closer.
The electronics are installed bar connecting the relevant cables once the turret is on, so outside of a few channel changes to suit my control set up- that should be it for all things electrical.
The track tow cable is ready to go which will liven up the right hand side.
None of the tooling is secured yet, ready to do the relevant wood effect & will be placed later.
At least with my "jake-the-peg" leg Im not having to drag my ass back from a thousand kilometers west like every other xmas.

Any way its looking good, how about some real wood handles?not to undo your work.
Great

Real wood eh ??..........
Well, I do need to make an axe with a different orientation to the one I have, so maybe I will do one real-wood handle out of the lot after all
Hey, whats the worst that can happen ?.......

Good morning Herman and Merry Christmas Eve.
You've really redone that tank into a Tamiya of Tamiyas! That old fellow would be proud! Anyway, take care of your health and here's to a new and prosperous Year of Tanking.
regards,
Painless

Thanks Mr Rainford, I do feel this one is a bit rushed ....
I guess its partially due to not having to deconstruct the thing right down to nothing.
All Ive really done is sand it off, do the zimmerit, and prime it
Got the "panzer putty" mask on the zimmerit damage spots ready for base coat tomorrow.
Ive used a 60-40% blend of XF 60 and XF55(deck Tan) that will go on the lower hull and hopefully turret tomorrow morning.
If it does, I will get the rest of the panzer putty on the upper hull zimmerit damage while the rest is drying.
IThe grenade mesh & all tools can be spot blended in during the camo process.
Speaking of which, its not easy to find a plausible description of the camo on this particular vehicle.
Any advise or direction gratefully accepted.

Ive just had one of the tank club guys drop over to get a couple of bits & hes tested my Tamiya electronics in this thing........
Apparently the DMD ist kaput.
The tank never did function as it should have when I got it, bit I put that down to old age, poor maintenance and lack of correct construction.
Seem's I was mostly right !
But, the DMD is not working as it should.
Now I'm im Das-Poop..............
I just never get a simple run with things electronic
Time to PM Mr Mekker and see what a suitable alternative is worth.

Sorry to hear about the DMD unit mr Bix. You are cursed when it comes to electronics

Hope you get it sorted soon. Could it be possible to get a second hand dmd unit.?
