No, Painless. I've never had any King Tiger parts except Tamiya, and wasn't even sure what manufacturers even made them. I am hoping that you are correct, in that he used SOME kit to base his measurements for this piece on. It really is a nice-looking part, and would be a shame not to be able to use it. But, MORE of a shame if it doesn't fit SOMETHING out there! Ha.

Herman, if it turns out that it does fit your housings; then I will happily contribute it to your build. Better that, than have it never get used on mine!

Damn....................just a thought.....................best not let Mrs B find out about this, she will want to hand carry it :haha: :haha:
:haha: 8O

I have already begun chicken-scratching a design out for one, but a Hawaiian version would be much better

Bolts for armoured covers on exhausts are :

17mm C to C
Gap between lifting lugs on covers also 17mm.
Gap between covers if lugs removed is 22mm.
This is a Taigen rear plate with I assume Taigen metal exhausts.
Picture when I can.

Actually, let me know what size you require to not need them and behold !!.........thats the size ;)

I can understand you not wanting to contaminate a Tamiya with these if they are not right, but I have no such conformance constraints !! :haha:

A measurement of 17cm center-to-center between the holes is DARN close to the 3/4" c-to-c distance of the tow hitch, (and far off from the Tamiya part). Therefore, it's better for your build to have this than mine, so it'll be winging it's way to you directly. I will PM you for the address, and look forward to seeing you have better luck with it than I could have.

Pm sent mate, I will make 1mm each side work!!
Thank you for the consideration to part with it, this build is quirky in the way "Contra" deals are made to get parts !
I just need to work out what I can do to get an alooominum! Barrel for it !!
Thanks again Mr Sassgrunt

My new tensioner arms arrived from rctank.de
These turned out to be the ones with the 5mm mounting spindle not the 4mm ones.
Seems there have been failures of the smaller versions.
I have taken dimensions of the standard idler mounts so I can be certain the idlers are reinstated to the same spot.

Cut the old mounts off with the razor saw after drilling a descent pilot hole out first.
The new hole for the tensioner needs to be 10mm diameter.
There is going to be JUST enough room for the adjuster bolt to penetrate the floor right next to a stiffener bolt, which was a fluke, on the left side.
The right side I will need to re-drill the stiffener plate bolt hole & use it to locate the adjuster screw.
Short term pain-long term gain.
Appreciate the tensioner unit Mr Jackalope  Its going to work a treat.

Did they send you all 4 parts for it to work? Please don't say you only got the arms that the idler goes in. I hope they didn't mess you up. :{

Yip,all 4 as the bigger spindles on the arms will not fit the sockets that you sent me.
I will need to get new adjuster bolts though. Hex heads will last better than the flat blade/ Phillips that are standard.
