The Heng Long Panzer 4 was the first 1/16 Tank I ever bought and of course no one was going to tell me how to upgrade it. :lolno:
I spoke to Steve at Welsh Dragon about gearboxes and what on Earth did he know :{ Of course I ignored his advise just as I ignored his advise on metal Idlers and Sprockets,
The Parcel arrived and guess what none of it fitted,
I have to tell you Humble pie has a pretty foul taste,
I then took note of Steve's advise and low and behold even though just like you Herman I spent time in a hardware store looking for small washers without success,
Then a light in the sky or was it a star lead me to "Modelfixings" and "Prime miniature's" and NYLON WASHERS which I found With the help of "GOOGLE" and after more suspension rebuilds than I care to remember I got it done and I have built 2 more Panzer 4s since and am accumulating more bits and pieces for a 4th, Including Steel axles for the metal rollers AND "R" Clips to hold the axles rather than the Pox awful "C" clips,
Not for nothing is masochism known as a perversion of the British :{ :haha:
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

If you are talking about "Masochism" Here is the first lesson,
I am telling you nothing :lolno: :lolno: :lolno:
And if you are talking about Panzer 4 builds we are going to need years to get the niceties correct especially the Heng Long models. :/
Shaun.

Today is "look for washers" day.
If things don't work out, tomorrow could be " put PzIV up for sale as-is" day !!!!!

Jack,
For shame, don't take advantage of our friend's torture. *chuckles* Herman, any possibility of using the backs of the HL wheels and mate them to the metal and rubber tired fronts?
regards,
Painless
...Money!? What's that!?...

There is mate, but the diameters are slightly different.
Pluse the principle at stake !
Mr Jack might be onto something :P

Herman,
I wish I could wave a Magic wand to solve the problem of the suspension but you have already identified what is wrong, Two words, Heng Long
That is why I have tried to keep away from commenting on your efforts. what you don.t need right now is a smart ar*e,
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
