I don't know, I'll ask manufacturer. But even if it can be done it will be low priority until the IBU3 is fully launched and any issues rectified.
Had an answer and no the hardware of the IBU2 cannot support the features used in the IBU3.
Ow, how sad... So I imagine the v1.10 will be the last version then.
Anyway, hope to see the new ibu soon.

Up to 1.16 at moment but all been minor changes to rectify small issues. 1.10 was the major change to the sound management though.

Tankbear, does the IBU3 has the ability to raise the main gun to clear the tank body when the gun is in a lowered position during turret traverse?

Will do but tonight having a night off, so will have to wait until tomorrow.
Although all videos current done with my iPhone but don't think the sound is that good, so now looking at action cams. Anyone got recommendations? I'm thinking at the SJ5000X but open to feedback.

As standard no, but a extra module is planned for modern tanks which includes a number of features like gun stabilisation so rear deck auto raise should be included.

Looks and sounds great so far. I look forward to hearing how it handles WW2 era engine sounds.
Any indication on final price at this stage?

Whilst on sounds, for those interested I’ll explain a little about the sound structure.
The IBU3 accepts sounds in 2 formats
.wav 22khz, 16bit, mono
.ibu – these are sounds provided for download from the manufacturer and dealers website and are encrypted so only can be loaded onto the IBU3 to be played.
So like the IBU2 you have a separate sound file for different actions so for engine there is
Engine start cold
Engine start warm
Engine Idle
Engine stop
Run
Revving
Release
Brake
First four are obvious but the rest are new features to the IBU3 so will expand on them
Run, this is the engine whilst driving. Only 1 sound file is needed and the IBU3 will automatically adjust it suit speed, it is also possible to tweak the settings to suit you sound file but I explain later.
Revving, it is possible to neutral rev the tank in this instance this file is played.
Release, is played as a rapid deceleration i.e. if the going from full throttle to neutral on controller spring return
Brake, is brake sound but played when brake is applied i.e. quick move of throttle stick in opposite direction past neutral stick position.
Now I know Rad was concerned about the 16mb internal memory, all the above sounds use up less than 2mb
