HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

You'll Love the 2 speed Gary. You'll need to get a set of metal driveshafts, though.

Nice work. They are good looking trucks.
The C24 Toyota Hilux is also a great looking truck and makes for a cool looking crawler or offroader.
Why not an overlander?

I still waiting my 2 speed with copper gears and the ural com unit.

I am sure you already know, but the silver metal ones are a bit naff. The black metal shafts are much better.

No, I didn't know about the drive shafts so thanks for telling me. I'll get some on order.

the ones above i have on order and look much better, alot of other people seem to be using them with good effect.
There are other types that look like the shiny ones, but you need to be careful as now the shiny ones come in black and are not as good as the other black beefier looking ones

Thought i would try and spruce up the WPL/HL wheels a little more. So designed a little centre ring for them and also drilled out the holes on the wheels. Added a bit of paint on the original wheel. I will also painnt the centre hub.

Sometimes it is the little things!

I am going to add these to the front wheels on my fire truck. only 10mins to print aswell.
Thinking i might make some mad max style wheels for one of the rat rods! haha

QUESTION:
Are any of you guys getting invovled with the WPL Fastest challenge? I am also building a mad High speed truck to compete for the fastest WPL truck.
Must use WPL chassis(of your choice) WPL body (of your choice) & WPL Axle/s. (not sure if JJRC axle is allowed or not?)

I may have to use a bump car for mine as the gearing i have calculated suggests 140+mph, so i either have to change gearing, or i need to get it up to speed without frying the electrics. HAHA. More madness to follow!
Heres the competition

Well, they banged me good. Again. I ordered (and paid for) the ready to run Ural truck, but they sent the kit. I contacted bang-you-good and they said they'll get back to me in a few days. Screw that, I already opened a claim at paypal.

The good news is that the C24 is fine, and I'll do a video on that over the weekend. The main reason for ordering the C24 was because i know a young guy that's learning 3D print design and this truck is more interesting to him than a military truck. The goal is to have him design all the accessories for it, depending on what kind of truck we build. If we do a safari truck it will mean light bars, cameras, camera attachments and mounts, etc, and if we do a war truck it will mean mounting a .50 cal or whatever.

So now I sit and steam and wait for someone to respond and see if I can get what I actually ordered.

So now banggood insists I ordered the kit, even though the charges don't add up. If I had ordered the kit it should have cost less but bang good has basically told me, "Frak You, you got what you got now shut up." This isn't the first time they screwed up my order and then insisted it was my fault. I'll never buy from or recommend banggood again.

Now I just wait to see what paypal does about getting this item returned and my money refunded. And of course this means I won't be building or reviewing the B36 Ural truck.
