HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

OK, for those of us that have truck factories bigger than General Motors I suppose it will last less, but there's still a considerable amount of good glue in one of those bottles. What I love is that you can clamp the parts together dry and get things aligned just as you please, and then you just wick a bit of liquid glue along the seams and it flows right in and makes a great bond. It reminds me of using Tamiya extra thin cement in a Touch-N-Flow applicator for styrene models. In fact, I'm tempted to try my Touch-N-Flo, but I also have some of those pipettes with the super thin tube at the end and I want to try those first.

Today we're printing wooden crates, and I want to see if I can put together a set of six to be sold to select individuals for about $5 USD per set of six, with postage to anywhere that has a US zip code included. For My British Buds postage might be a problem, and that's why I hadn't posted the video here, but I'll post it in the 3D Printer thread to see if there's any interest. Sorry to go off topic like that. I'll shut up now. @)

HL Truck Mods

As promised, the Daka tyres are 64mm o/d x 17.5mm wide at the treads.
Below left to right are Lego 62.4 x 20, then Daka, and finally the std WPL tyres
Cheers

This morning i woke up and found the print worked beautifully for the front lower beam to continue the front sus setup for the M35 Rat

So next things to print are side swing arms for front to connect the chassis.
Also need some turnbuckles for the rear setup to let it swing.
Steering servo mount & setup
Motor mount and comparments for electronics.
Interior seats and dashboard.

Need a big radiator up front to sit under the cowling.

Great big mudguards & a 5th wheel for the back, not to mention the great big stacks!

Got some proper electronics in the Q60 and she's just stupid fast. Ordered two of the two-speed gearboxes, one for this and one for the Ural Comm truck, which is on the way. When I selected the shipping method it said 5-9 business days, so we'll see if they're tellin' the truth.

I also ordered one of these.

Not sure what I'll do with it, but I see some kind of camera truck for chasing lions and leopards and cheetahs. Oh my. :haha: :haha: :haha:

I thought about one of those machine gun trucks like the ones those wild-eyed-pistol-waivers in the mid east use, but I think they like toyotas? :haha: :haha:

Maybe I'll hook it up to go deer hunting up in the U.P. (Michigan's Upper Peninsula) at my Gramps' place.

I'll think of somethin'. @) :/ 8)

Any of you guys remember the Dodge M880?
