I like it, Bix! That camouflage scheme is to me "credible"; i.e. field painted. I tried for the a similar look with a somewhat more complicated camouflage scheme on my WCP SdKfz. 251. At first, I was disappointed, but the next day, checking if the paint had dried, I was quite pleased.

I still have my 50-year-old Thayer and Chandler airbrush and extra parts a friend scavenged off eBay over a decade ago. Nonetheless, I use a newer Paasche H. It's not a "double action" "internal mix" brush, but for 1/16 scale and my lack of coordination it's just fine and not expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if the Paasche airbrushes are as readily available in Australia as in the US.

Well, Mr. B, it looks quite good to me!
But you can judge it way better.
If it is not 100% for you, a wash and so might cover up some bad spots.
And in the end, nobody will notice!
So don‘t be so hard on yourself, it looks good!

Cheers Mr 59, I've looked & looked over it & have to accept its close enough.
If I was to get a new airbrush & suffer thru a repaint, the thing would still look similar.
Quit while your ahead is the term that springs to mind

Trying to do a factory German camo is a thing thats not for the faint-hearted, I have that on good authority!!
Just trying to get the right angle on the brush was just an act in itself as the bloody barrel was everywhere I wanted to be

Aye HDP its credible enough, and it will stay. Keeping in mind theres not a whole lot of variation for Ferdinands at Kursk, choice of 3 or 4, so this being 722 has to be close enough.

I did read about the Ferdinand/Elefant on Tank Encyclopedia, when I was doing mine.
They were send out to the troops in Dunkelgelb.
So the crews had to make their own camo pattern, spraying or brushing!
So in fact, you cannot go wrong on it Mr. B
On mine I added the camo with a brush, ain’t perfect either!
