Bit of a close out on this, at least in the same year.................

I found 2 old Trumpeter figures locally new in the box & decided that despite my last effort painting a figure ending up looking like a pissed-as clown on his way to a mardi-gras, I had to try again.
I followed Mr Nightshifts 'glazing' method & it seemed to work ok.
The figure was cut to suit the cuploa and although see looks a bit happy considering his situation, he turned out ok I think.
I made a map of Pomerania by printing a small map.......of Pomerania, specifically the area around Altdamm. dated from 1905!
Once it was folded the thing passes for a reasonable looking scale map.
The guy came with an excellent PPsh41 SMG too, which i added a sling made from Tamiya masking tape and a bit of paint.
His tankers helmet is a separate part which suited being dropped next to his station for a while as they moved out of the combat zone............
hindisght being what it is, I should have looked around for heads that would take away his look of excessive joviality :headbang:

Excellent job Herman, I was actually wondering yesterday how well that technique translates to our scale. I'm glad to see it works so well, he looks great!

Thanks mate, it could be better, but that is a first try at it since my traumatic go at an H/L commander :'(
I watched Uncle Nightshift do his last model for this year and he hinted at a much bigger project next.
im hoping that he is going to try a 1/16th scale so we can see if his methods cross over across the entire build.
God knows I need all the help I can get unless Gary Farrow moves to the sunny Gold Coast :lolno:

I'm also following Uncle Nightshift and I've already tried to apply some of the painting/weathering techniques to our 1/16th scale, so for myself I'd say it works fine, it just takes a lot more time due to the size of the model... :haha:

Herman!
I've seen this work somewhere before ( but not done nearly as well as yours ) That really is some great paint and weathering you have accomplished, my Friend!
regards,
Painless

It's obvious that as soon as she saw Bix's little man's smile, her eyes "glazed" over. :D

That Dushka sure does fill up the cupola eh mate !
I prefer the khaki of the summer uniform but the dark blue/ black coveralls were a staple right through the conflict too.
Plus it was all I could get at the time !
I would prefer a Pps43 smg but unless one comes with a figure that ain’t happening!

PPS43's can be made, if somebody can supply the dimensions...

It's a Christmas miracle (the miracle being some time off work, obviously)! :haha:

A fun little diversion from catching up on housework, while also being more productive than playing videogames. Maybe three evenings' worth of work, and it was good to put into practise some of what I learned from drawing the T-90's AKS-74Us. I'll get some prints done before too long, but the resin currently in the vat is unsuitable for this and I've got other stuff I want to use it for before changing it out.
