Heng long truck

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Thanks for the link Raminator, I may look into a set of those, I'll let you know what they are like if I get a set

That looks very interesting Mr wibbly, I wonder what the cost of them would be in relation to tyre's that are commercially available ???

Cheers, Lee.

I ripped this off from another forum just for you guys. It's said this will be another version of the truck, "available soon".

Seems like there's lots of fun detailing to do, starting with windows, and maybe even making the winch operational. Maybe try to light the roof lights? If this platform is even halfway worth it I think we're going to see more versions of this truck platform than just about anything we've seen so far (except maybe Shermans).

I see a whole new control board market opening up. Didn't someone say Clark will make a board for these? I wonder if Tamiya 1/14 electronics could work in one of these. I'm not super familiar with RC Trucks but I've seen some cool videos, with excellent sounds, not just for engine but also stuff like air brakes, turn signals, etc. I can see these as a new aspect to battling. A convoy that needs to be protected, with each convoy truck having to be hit so many times to be knocked out, with one team as defenders trying to get the convoy from one side of the field to the other and the other team as ambushers (or insurgents?) trying to destroy it.

One of these would do for sound.

The Clark truck boards seem to be several times the cost of the truck.

Would that sound unit from banggood be able to be used with the trucks standard electronics wibbly or would it need an after market board to operate it ?

I bought one of those when they were still $20 US, about half what they are now. I think it's a TBS clone. Sounds good, though, and I got the programming cable in case I ever learn how to use it. :/

MB4, it runs inline from the RX on the throttle channel, and just does engine sounds.

There's a sound board that guys have been using with stock heng long electronics in tanks, can't remember the name, but it might work with these trucks.

If I were you, before spending tons of cash on upgrades I'd wait until someone reviews the truck. So far It looks like it has no sound, probarbly the motor will be not proportional and looks weak... It might be really toyish and might not worh investing any extra coin on it. Probarbly you need to use extra electronics (I mean, an ESC) to be able to control it with hobby grade radio.

The Gary`s convoy idea sounds kinda cool by the way, but a battle system for the truck will worth more than the truck itself, lol.

Also, Gary, I would not spend not even a single euro in a tamiya truck electronics (They are something about 300 bucks if I am right), specialy when you have this for less than 20 bucks that has more functions.

I have one for a P40 plane, and you can use wathever sound you want (up to 16 sounds) but with a maximum total lenght of 22 seconds and the lights combinations you want too. Fully programable.
