Thanks for the comments guys. People are free to use my idea. I think it add another level of realism, and the great part of this hobby is sharing ideas.
I need more channels on my radio to add more functions! lol

OK I am going to try your brilliant MG set up in the KT. I have that extra channel. Soon we will have to be getting those 10ch. radios.
Looking great keep it up!

Another update guys, I bet your going to get sick of this soon, lol.
The first post today is showing the detailing i've added to the sponsons, and the surgery on the battery.
On the sponsons, ive added the sloped block at the front, which is missing from the kit, and the 2 circular holes on the rear, shown in the first two pics.

The final pic shows the battery alterations i've made for the lights and smoke unit. The smoke unit only needs 6v, so the negative wire is inserted between, cells 4 & 5 and the positive is on the positive wire.
The picture also shows the RC switch used to control the lighting, its a handy little thing.

More smoke unit details will follow in the next post.

The smoke unit!
Firstly i'd like to give credit to the gentleman from this site;
http://www.tanksandtrolls.co.uk/smokerspage.htm
The idea was his, and im thankful for it. It works well.
The box for the unit is a simple plasticard and brass design, with a 40mm fan in one end. I surrounded the fan on the inside with a layer of thin cotton. This stops the smoke coming into the tank when the fans not spinning. The fan wires are just connected into the motor connectors, though I may move them to the motor terminals.

The one thing I couldn't work out how to do was to get it working when the tanks in reverse.
I'll let the video and pictures say the rest.

It is proportional, It gives a nice puff of thick smoke when you start moving, then a thinner steady stream while moving. It looks very cool. I've been told as well the whole system works much better when moving under load. At the moment my Tiger is up on block without any wheels. The only thing I dont like is the smoke doesn't las all that long before needing to be refilled. Maybe i'll try putting more oil in.
I've got a couple more pictures to show of the completed box. I sealed in the top of the box, and added a tube to fill the smoker. To close that off is a tight fitting pin on a little bit of chain. Its quite handy to stop it disappearing into the tank. The whole thing will be mounted under the engine hatch for easy access.

I also re-did the 3 part strip on the top of the turret with tiny allen headed bolts, but couldn't get a picture of it to come out right. >:( It looks a lot better though.
Cheers,
Rik

When Shaun, did this conversion a few year back he never got the smoke to work in reverse.

Rivet, I bought it off of evilbay from this guy;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Turnigy-Receiver-Controlled-Switch-on-off-endless-uses_W0QQitemZ140329103733QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item20ac443175&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
He's the same guy I got my microservo from, very fast delivery. The switch works really well.
Panzer34, i've heard that using baby oil in graupner units can damage them. Im going to buy a 1l bottle of fog oil from maplins, i've been told by the RC boat guys that it works really well, and is really cheap. Im not sure about making the smoke black. It would look cool, but black smoke is unburnt fuel. The real Tiger's exhaust was barely visible, except for puffs at start and gear change. It depends what your looking for, with my Tiger, i'm going for as realistic as I can. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Rik
