Nice looking build. Have you run up the ETO boxes yet? I've had pretty good results in my KT.

A lovely job sir done as ever with thought as well as a high level of skill,
I smiled when I saw the track cable fit on the flank of the Tiger,
The first time I tried to fit the "ABER" Track cable was when I discovered that if you wanted real accuracy the track cable was fitted in a different way depending on the year the Tank entered service. :eh:
I am not totally sure how many different ways they fit because I lost interest Pretty soon after. But there is no doubt that if you decide to build a 1/16 Tank and it really doesn't matter which, you need deep pockets and a sound mind. :lolno:
Shaun.

A joy to follow, Painless. Every time I look at those Tamiya kit bits, I feel the almost irrepressible urge to grab the plastic, and get myself a Tamiya Full-Option kit until.... that is, I look at the prices. :O The fantasy comes to an abrupt halt, as many do in life. I've been considering doing one piecemeal instead, starting with the chassis and a few suspension parts..then a few 'A', 'B' and other parts over the months and years. This way, I'd postpone the completion date- but not the pleasure-until sometime after my own 'use by' date :haha: This method might minimise the cash outlay shock. But then, the piecemeal approach is likely to be much more expensive in the long run. Additionally, the supply of parts cannot be guaranteed. Anyway, at least I can enjoy the vicarious pleasure of seeing your first class handiwork on a Tamiya model.
Incidentally, I always smile when I see your 'Painless' handle, as it reminds me of Bob Hope (influential, self-depracating English comedian and screen star)..as 'Paleface' and 'Son of paleface': the intrepid cowboy/ dentist, 'Painless' Potter. I loved those old movies, as well as the 'Road' movies with Bing Crosby.
Roy.

Good morning, Gentlemen,
Kaiser, thank you as always. ;o) Bill, only to lubricate and they were 'solid' with a nice mechanical whirr. Jarndice, I am reasonably sure that some German factory worker welding retaining chains onto everything was chuckling evilly and saying "well, ve might lose der War but you just vait til you filthy Amerikaners try to build an accurate, scale model of dis thing, eh!?" All of this brass is designed to make a beautiful, white gloves only shelf model of the tank. ( and spend a couple of years doing it ) I have to walk a different path and thankfully, Tamiya used a lot of forethought when designing this baby. Sound mind? That day has passed like rain on the mountain, etc...etc... Have a great one! On with Step 21...Pics:

Good morning, 43rdR&R,
Are you back home home from your southern journey? Thank you for your insights, sir. As Mike pointed out to me, this version of the Tiger 1 can be had for a lot less than the complete RC version one. Now having said that, buying all the internals and electronics to take it from Static to RC have added a fair pence or two onto the price for Mike and I, also, have seen some things I wanted to put onto it and have. Mike provided three complete ABER sets so I'll have plenty left over for later builds. As I work on this amazing piece of Kit, I'm realizing that my plan to get one for myself will be altered. I now plan to get the full option rc kit and 'then' buy the couple of sprues needed to take that Tiger back to this version. That way, I'm only looking at 600 US or so. Not too bad. I've seen the full options go from Banzai for 500 US so I'm somewhere in the ballpark. Don't wait forever to get yourself what you want... Enjoy Life while the sun is still high in the sky. ;o)
regards,
Painless
