Well now you've gone and done it Ecam....You've surpassed your brother...in build and finish....I wonder if that's the reason he's been silent for awhile

Finally got a chance to work on the turret. Finding pictures of what I'm working on can be rather hard. Still working on the box thingies that attach to the wall brackets. And then building the sight on the commanders side of the turret.

I tried three different paints. Even tested base coating with silver and blacks. The end result was a base of Testors' enamel brass with a top coat of an acrylic brass. Thank you for the suggestion/offer. I was even looking into a cheap lathe to try and turn some out in brass.

This stuff will cover in one coat...dries in seconds ...I'll give Mike a bottle to send to you ...no problem on my part
you will have to strip what you've done though...this stuff will make it bubble up

PS Sorry I didn't have a better photo...had some of a Panzer III...Mike got to see that one in person...that sucker is like polished brass...from certain angles it will reflect the sun and blind you

Got a few things to do yet, but I'm pretty close to calling this done. Feel free to comment on the woulda/shoulda things. Couple things I would do different (perhaps on the next one) but I am happy with my first scratch build. I found some info that some crews moved the 50 to the front for some urban help. My crew "borrowed" a second.

For me, its an absolute winner, I much prefer this over a Sherman any day.
Great job Mr Ecam

Looks awesome! Only small suggestion I would make is to darken the wood on the butterfly grips for the M2s. Even new they would have been a darker stain; lots of grimy handling would make them nearly black.
Overall looks awesome! How about some video?

Yep, I found a bottle of old tan (that needed thinner). Just thought the black grips needed some "wood". Good point, well used grips would have been closer to black than my bright tan!
