A little to smooth looking I think on the painted over turret. But if it is acceptable to you go with it and those added on panels on the turret front to. Like the looks of the loaders shields.
I think mine looks to rough to me but I'm not changing it unless I have absolutely nothing else to do an want to keep from being bored because once I finish my second KT I have nothing waiting to be worked on as far as my tanks go unless I go back and add gun recoil to everything I have that's a bb shooter or without recoil. I have been putting off a lot of yard work since our spring was bad and its already almost September and the end of summer.

I wish it showed better in the photos...but it's fine in person...didn't want to go too course like on WW2 tanks...It's also the reason I had to paint it...the texture shows well by itself...needed to see how the color affected it....I can still add more if I want...but I'm pretty satisfied with the sublime effect

The panels? ...yeah ...after ATC said they served the same purpose as those louvered ID plates...I put them back on...don't really like the louvered ones...they steal away from the "look" of the tank...which is what is important in the GUP genre....not sure you noticed that Giant...but if you take a good gander at the armor in the anime...detailed as they are...they are really clean...kind of like the animators wanted to bring out the elegance (lack of a better term ;) ) in the design of the metal beasts ...felt the panels blend in better ...not to mention it was interestingly serendipitous how I found that plastic..it was kismet I tell ya!
Kept thinking about it...went out to do some laundry and bam...the source of great looking textured panels almost jumped out at me :D

I think yours looks great...wouldn't change it at all if it were mine.... I just about was forced to go the route I did for lack of materials...if I could have got that texture paint I told you about earlier...I may have went in that direction instead...ATC told me about MR Surfacer ...something like that...I've seen it used here...it looks great on WW2 tanks...but thought it had the wrong effect for this one...not to mention I don't know if it's available here ...this was pretty easy and convenient ....Told ATC how to do it in a PM...what I like about doing it the way I did is...I buy paint anyway :D ...using it in different methods removes the need for additional products ...which is better for me because I don't have that much time to shop around ;)

I hear you on the yard work....summer has been rough...very very hot outside...the climate is different now...very unusual kind of heat...almost convection like
..so very easy to get burned...even fully clothed ...so time is limited for outdoors work until it cools off a little more...I rather deal with rain than the heat or the reflected heat...it burns all the same lol

Anyway...On to the Hull...wish me luck ;)

The on and off humidity is the real bugger here. I have a huge tree in my backyard that keeps everything shaded so it can be 90 out and it only feels like a warm damp basement. Go to the front of the house and in full sunlight you soak though standing still. Good thing rain has been sparse so the lawn is not growing very much in the rear and has almost gone dormant in the front.
Have a good time doing the lower hull. I'm still waiting to see what you used as grills.
