i have used ronseal for years, it goes dead flat is cheap for a big tin which will last for ages and gives a hard very protective coat, i used it on the kubel i did for militarymight and you can buy it as an acrylic or enamel based varnish

Hi ,
since I started this hobby I have used Tankzone for everything. I have always had my parts within 2 or 3 days of ordering on line, they are always well packed and correct in detail.
I have had a moan about the Tiger track tensioner fitting instructions on line, but Tankzone market them not make them so I can not fault them in fairness.
I have bought Two tanks and both have been packed superbly. I had a problem with one rear idler on the PZ3 so I phoned Kin about it. Within 2 days he sent me a set of track tensioners, new idlers and a spring upgrade kit as compensation......cheaper than posting a tank both ways and quicker. Plus an e-mail apology immediately.
I have used Howes Models as well. I bought my Tiger as a "faulty return" for £40, metal tracks and S & S as a project....not bad cos it only needed a RX14 board.
I then ordered a Pershing as "returned faulty". This was a disaster. Wrecked gearboxes, one motor burnt out, no aerial, no battery, no crystal, and inside the fixings were all split.
I phoned them back and had a moan....it took a long phone call and lots of threats that I would post my complaints for all to read on this site before I could get the shop owner to agree to a new tank. I had to pay postage both ways, and the difference between the buggered tank and a new tank. When this was over, for the total cost I could have bought one of Tankzones top Tigers with all add ons. The shop owners attitude stunk. He said the "faulty" tanks were sold as seen, but I said that they did not match the shops description of the faults on them. I wouldn't go near them with a barge pole again if you paid me.
There was no way that he wanted to help me until he realised that I could damage his business on here...... Too late buddy I've told the tale now aint I.
Sorry mate this is a bit of a round about story but I hope it helps in some way.
I'm hoping someone answers the other part of my enquiry about the RX13 / RX 14 conversion..... c'mon help an old man you guys.....
Have a good evening chaps...........Mike

mike i once had issues with howes and IMHO they are crooks but luckily i didnt get stung
next to hopefully put some of your other question to rest
yes you can fit the fan to the smoker switch ( i did this in my bulldog build

)
the Rx13 is a straight swap out for the Rx14 (just watch the motor polarity as i noticed that its ass about face on the 14s no harm comes of it but you wire it up go forwards and your tank pivots not good if the wifes watching lol)
but technically "Yes" it is a straight swap out
Thanks go to wackywheels for the pics

just a note never had any probs using an RX13 board and never fried one not by accident anyway
you would be best to cool the fets with a fan or stick on heat sinks or both just for piece of mind
(sorry mike missed that bit lol)
