Hi panzernut,

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
I think I may have a dodgy RC. It took me ages for me to get it turned on and ticking over, but cannot get it started again.

If you look in the video, you'll see that the tank is flashing at the front (like mine does) and THEN he turns on the RC.

He makes out he then turns on the tank.

I have tried both turning on the RC first, then the tank. As well as having the tank turned on, and then the RC.
I've pressed every button on the RC, and nothing happens. I stll get the flashing light and hissing sound from the speakers. As this is the same problem I had both before and after it smoking, I think the tank is okay and that the problem lies with my n00bie dumbness.

It doesn't help that the images in the manual do not match up with the tank.

It is a great tank, and worth the money. The promo pictures do not do it any favours, as it is far better in the flesh.

Just wish I could work out how to get it running properly.

Good Evening.
I'm impressed with the tank from what I saw in the video. As for what you're experiencing, make absolutely sure that your battery is charged. It sounds like it has just enough juice to run current and flash the light. The hiss you are hearing could be the trim switch being down and the motors trying to turn over. The fact that you got it to start up once then not again makes me suspect the battery as the culprit even more. I'll have to get one of these tanks one day. It looks like a great platform to have a very detailed Tiger built off of. The gun barrel is the one where the tube is in partial recoil but that is an easy fix. The box it came in looks like the original one that HL started out with too. A trip down memory lane. Good luck and I hope you have it running asap.
regards,
Painless

P.S. If you have the airsoft version, try to avoid at all costs using the yellow balls of quick gun death that come shipped with the tank. Invest in some high quality aftermarket plastic shot or paintballs. I use Crosman glow-in-the-dark tracers. A ton of fun at night.
...Here for the Dawn...

Hi PainlessWolf,

It is an impressive tank. Far better than the promo photos that are shown on websites. I think those are photos for an earlier version that Taigen brought out.

The hiss is just white noise that you would hear when any speaker is turned on. The point of me saying it, was because it proved it was working as such. It there were no noise at all, then I would be concerned.

The battery was charged for long enough (at least 3 hours).

I tried to get it working till about 03:30 with no luck. I didn't touch it at all the next day as I was busy with other things.

I put the antenna back onto the tank the following day, and it has since worked. I guess it wasn't on fully when I first tried. I was correct when I thought it was a n00b error.

As for the BB, there is nothing to say they are airsoft. They are yellow, (but aren't they all?) and there is no makers name on them. Can't wait for it to dry up and take it outside for a spin.

I did take some photographs, but cannot seen to upload them to the site. I won't use a file-sharing site because I have raised DMCA's with all of them. I'll try and make a video at some point. I only have a digital camera that can take videos, and a "flip" that can, but not used it much.

hi and sorry not been about past few days. i had same problem as you describe and put it down to when they paint it the antenna terminal gets covered in paint and stops antenna getting good connection.
i scraped it off with knife, sounds like putting antenna on and off few times took enough paint off to get good connection.
i would also recommend going to Welsh dragon models and getting torro rx18 fan box to cool rx18 board cool and was only £10 plus postage. only needs two wires splicing into power loom.
