Hello Z , checking the crystals - on the front panel of the transmitter ( lower right ) there is a black oblong piece of plastic , above it you can see the letters A B C . That is the cover for the Tx's crystal . Just pull it out ( it might be stiff ) put it in your other 'good' TX , and see if the tank works now .
. . . .re Pershing - " flashing lights , no response . . ."
. . . sounds like a classic case of low battery
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

If your pershing is also an RX-18 board then you can try swapping the two and see if it makes a different. Chances of both board dying on you would be much more slim. You can also try swapping the receiver board as well but make sure you remember what combination work and what didn't. The receiver board is the one with the antenna connection.

I agreed with blimp...... Classic low battery. If you are using stock charging sometimes they just don't charge properly. Make sure that there is some warmth coming out of the batery when you charge you to make sure there is actually charging happening.

Success! :D

Thanks for all the help amd suggestions and for a great, friendly community.

I ordered a few parts from Forgebear and Panzer Command - a new battery, charger, crystals and a RX board.

It turned out the board was faulty in the Panther and it only took minutes to fix! The M26 shouldn't present a problem now I've got the confidence to open up a tank and have a look around.

Hi welcome...ha ha I'm not the only newbie around here and I'm not the only M26 newbie owner...
I got the Bulldog with mine.
Another great and simple upgrade is Welsh Dragon's replacement speaker.
As for the barrel elevation..well I looked at the M26 barrel as I'm going to attempt to put s recoil unit in mine.
Strangely enough that one was worse than the bulldog...I just cleaned up and deburred the pivots and its great now but soon to be confined to the scrap bin when I add the recoil unit.
As for the track jerks on the M26..Thats Heng Long's basic attempt to give it the effect of recoil when firing. Some people like it, other people loathe it. Personally I don't mind but if I do get the barrel recoil to work then I'll have to stop it doing that trick somehow.
The expensive fix for that is to buy Welsh Dragon's 2.4Ghz conversion kit.....
Hmm only been here two days and I got my head full of tank crap already...I'll be driving them in my sleep next!
