Good idea cheers, if nothing works I was going to switch to steel and use a magnet to hold it there when it drops into breach?..... I had a go at a few things but nothing seemed to work well or at all.... I am getting a little frustrated with it

I have a simple idea... got fed up loosing my evenings playing about with this... so gone down to 4.5mm steel BB's and use a magnet under the hole where they drop in... this holds it in place stops the rest falling in but dont stop Co2 from launching it

...
POW!!...just need a 4.6 MM tube

Well all put together it works every time the feeder idea with the magnet could not be more simple and practical.... it blew the hose off a few times and need a better way to keep it on etc.. a few triggering problems due to the cam comming away from the trigger, the gas escaps 'quite quick' so i deen to adjus the tigger or some how speed the cam up....
So forgive the pun it was a bit hit and miss testing... when it did work it was it was powerfull..but the lack of shots makes it seriously anoying and to much of a faf changing gas... buying moe gas etc...
I think once i get the pipes connected propperly and find a good trigger timing all will be well... i have vids and pics but having serious issues uploading it all so dont have muvh to show for it

so make the hole the gas comes through smaller, that should allow you to meter the consumption better.

I agree about ditching the HL BBs I have had a few stick in the barrel. I now use the polished ones that I use in my Thompson AEG and they are much better.

In reagrds to pipe diamiter etc.. I will first try shave a bit off the trgger plate so the cam dont push it back so far...
And the BB,s are now 4.5mm steel so they are smooth as can be... I think after alot of set up i cshould get wht i am after... just need to get vids and pics which might help

I finaly got a Vid up....Co2 test. Its still using to much Co2 only getting 6-7 shots out of it.. i closed the pipe up but thats not the problem.. the problem is its pulling to much on the trigger letting alot out at a time....or i need to speed the cam up..But how could i do that any ideas??

I have not given up on this... it has been a while but I am back with new ideas, when I tested the C02 idea it did work as a concept so I dug out the old gizmo I made and gave it another look to improve shot count and reliability. this issues I had was the bore was to big letting gas escape down the side of the BB, the diamiter of the gas feed pipe from the Co2 unit that was in the hull to the cannon was to big and also blew off from time to time and the valve was only designed to open or closed there was no finesse with it.... so it was just full on gas ejection followed by subsonic frozen ball bearings

it was too much
What I need is a smaller spring return loaded valve that can be ''flicked'' with a servo horn attached to the C02 valve
I was thinking about having the exsisting valve jammed open and use a small carb off a nitro engine to fit into the gas out port? then uses the linkage arm on it to flick it open ever so slightly to get less more precise gas release?
this all depends on the carb and if it is air tight in the closed position?? if that works I can do away with the more clumsy cam mechanism I made from an old airsoft unit to pull the trigger on the original Co2 valve....with me?
I will post pics of progress eventualy

Having been a hardcore REAL "gun-nut" and all about the concept of "Peace through superior firepower", the thought of anyone showing up at an RC tank meet with such a BB system & tearing my replicated model to shreds would, quite guaranteed, have got me dropping my Tx & handling a blunt instrument of any description with almost deadly force.
I agree in principle with the concept & excecution of the mechanics reqiured to achieve the result, but the 'WHY" and in what context remains
In paintball matches, I was quite happy to freeze my paintballs...............but then I was also happy to use the butt of my painball gun as a means of self defence once done...................
I dont get it
