Sorry Brel....I'd send you a can, but they are very sticky about shipping of aerosols now. I guess they had a few too many cans explode in airplane cargo holds.
no worrys mate, they would think it was a bomb if you did that

Great job on the Sherman, but do you think you can stay awake long enough to run the battery low  ;D ;D  From experience i know there is not much room in the Sherman lower hull so you have done a good job getting in all that stuff.  8)

I've actually come up with a speaker solution as well. I had an old Dell laptop- pulled the speakers out of it and am using them. They measure 1 1/4x3/4x5/16". I had to run two in series to get the impedance, but it seems to wlr well. And I'll mount them under the vents at the back of the upper hull- should work great!

It's been a busy time, but I got some solid work done this weekend. I added the handles for the fuel caps and fabricated the periscope guards. I've also decided to run LED's for head and taillights. That was interesting- cutting off the end of the taillight, drilling it out, and adding a micro red LED.... The headlights are on hold as the white micro LED's are out of stock. But, so far so good....

I still have to shave off and replace all the handles as well. But the hard stuff is now done. The hardest was probably doing the braces along the sides- this is a first gen Tamiya and there is no indication where the braces should be. Hard to gauge from photos and such. But that's done, and the dern periscope guards too! But it is so worth it- Tamiya does such a nice job of detail as it is....anything else you do just emphasizes the kit as a whole. Can't wait to start my King Tiger!

Hi Guy just been reading the bit about the paint it wouldnt be allowed on an aircraft it clasified as a corosive it actualy etches into the metal and once fully cured is realy hard to remove ,a long time ago they used to use it for aircraft but found in certain cercumstances it removed to much metal(stress thing stopped them )when applied it also not very healthy so if you use it wear a mask.As a primer you wont find better

I finally had some time to work on that dern electrical. Seems no one has the straight poop on how to hook up the Heng Long Rx18 battle system, so I'm going by best guess and by trying to figure things out myself (as most online help contradicts with each other). Once I've proved to myself I have it right, I'll make up a how to doc.

Anyway, I've got it wired. All I have to prove to myself is that the wiring for the "apple" is right and I will be good to go on a document. Here's some pics, including my new tank commander (thanks to smalljoes and 21st Century Toys. My apologies to his family, but now he's only half the man he was!  :D I broke his waist pivot, then drilled out his "guts" to envelope the plug for the apple in the turret. I've included a fuzzy (sorry) pic of my sealed lead acid battery complete with fuse protection and the on/off switch.  ;D
