Hi R32,

At the moment it allows to take hits and shoot Tamiya tanks. But the number of hits recieved is restricted by the RX18 5 hits so at moment the board can be left as a medium tank with 5 hits or a heavy with 9 hits (The Mako just only passes on every second shot to the RX18).

As for speed reduction the Mako board doesn't do, but there is going to be an add on Mamba board due in summer time which will reduce speed in line with hits and allow LED hit indicator.

The system isn't intended to be a Tamiya system but just allow for the two brands to shoot each other and allow people to have fun together.

Got mine today (just over a week, Oz to NY, not bad) and it works like a charm.

Of course under the heading of can't catch a break, the HL shares the same frequency as the M4, so there will be no 3 way battles until I get a new crystal.

Is it possible to install the Mako Battle Adapter with the ATRC on an airsoft tank? The only reason why I would want to do this is that it prevents soldering. I have purchased the ATRC from rctanksaustralia, and I am wondering whether I could go ahead and install the Mako even though I do NOT have an IR tank. I do not think it is possible as per installation instructions on the mako you must connect the 5pin IR connect thru the Mako adapter. I am just trying to avoid soldering, as I dont have a clue how to do that. thanks

Hi thehobbitsden,

As far as I know if you plug the Mako board in to the IR socket of the RX18 and don’t have IR it will still work. I will confirm this tonight by unplugging my IR stuff and making sure it still stops the recoil.

Hi thehobbitsden,

Checked tonight and the ARTC works fine with out IR gear plugged in.

Just a note when you order a MAKO board to ask for none JABB (see my other review) that way it will eliminate all track recoil.
