i'll be busy, ive a tam' sherman to build as soon as i order the vvss suspension, dont want to build it without suspension, i will also be helping katie to build her panzer 3, which has a lot of metal upgrade bits to put on it, and when i get round to it, install the micro servos i have, for gun elevation on my Tiger, plus theres a few more mod's to do on the Tiger also. so like most of you guys i will be busy in '09,
still, all good fun ;) ;)

I've got a PzIII, PzIV, King Tiger and T-34 to work on. A PzIII to SU-76i conversion to do and I hope to finish off my scratchbuilt Jagdpanther.

But then there's lots more goodies coming out this year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with outstanding projects demanding attention.

Tamiya King Tiger to zimeritt & spray + hide TBU in cupola
Scratch Panther A (started before Tamiya released theirs) using 21st C bits. Just the top hull and exhausts to finish.
Scratch Elefant. Need to turn wheel bearings and apply zim, detail and paint.
Israeli M50. One of my earliest mods. Needs complete re-hash really.
Tamiya Leopard 1 A4. Old Clutch drive. Bit of a wreck now but would be great to have running again with new gearboxes and MFU.
Two (yes two!) Tamiya Pershings. One still in box and one nearly finished. - Don't ask!
T34. I want to make it into a '43 version with a 76mm turret. Have I ever mentioned that?
Bandai Panzer IV. Is a runner but started re-building parts of the turret and hull to eliminate inherent innacuracies in the kit.
HL Stug. Finished modifying recoil using Pete Wright's technique. Metal tracks added. Need to get Darkiths battle circuit now. Might zimmeritt it and add schurtzen.
HL PzIV F1. Metal tracks and sprockets added. Waiting for L43 gun and metal hatches and parts to arrive from 'tankzone' (could be a long wait though!)
Bandai Hummel. Been waiting to make it into a Nashorn for some 6 years now! Still waiting!
Bandai Stug IV. Still in kit form - nuff said!
21st C Hanomag. Want to RC it but....

Doesn't look too bad once you write it all down does it? Does it...??

Cheers
Chris ;D

I'm in the middle of the rebuild of my RT 1601 Sherman from Tamiya. It had been built (poorly) by the original owner, so I've broken it down to nuts and bolts. So far I've flattened the dimples in the lower hull from overtorquing of the standoffs for the upper track guides, filled in the guides so they are solid, primed all metal with inc chromate, olive drab painted the parts (well, most of them) for the lower hull, remounted the upper track guides with washers on the inside (now to bend the aluminum lower hull, they will have to bend over 1/2" in diameter), and am starting to reassemble the lower hull. I will be putting in HL electronics to control it, usingthe original gearset set up for pushbutton R/C (which separates teh twl gear trains). After that, I'll detail and paint the upper hull as stock (I have already purchased another entire upper hull for something custom at a later date). I will also be fitting in a HL turret rotation unit and maybe a Tamiya muzzle flash. I will also be running a 6V sealed lead acid battery which should be good for at least 24 hours between charges....

Once that is finished, I will start on my Tamiya King Tiger motorized static model (the one with the duffle bag). I'll be running a modified first gen gearset in it, muzzle flash and turret rotation from Tamiya, HL electronics, and may set both the Sherman and the KT to HL battle IR system as well.

After that, I'll get back on my almost completed HL Tiger I in grey- it's done, but needs markings, weathering and such. Also, I want to put a resistor in on the turret rotation line to slow it down.

Finally, I can get back to my (as of yet unstarted except for tearing it apart and breaking in the gearset) HL Panzer IV. It will be done as a DAK unit.

After that, I'll need to put up another shelf- this one is full! I never thought I'd have an armor corral like this- HL Pershing, HL Tiger I, HL Panther, HL Panzer IV, Tiger Sherman, Tamiya King Tiger! And I only started in this hobby (read: obsession) back in March 08. It sure does get under your skin....

I once had a wife who used to leave me lists of things to do,  >:( which caused be to develop a healthy aversion to
anything to do with lists. Anyway here's my list :-

PzIV

This will remain as a DAK austf.F1 but is getting metal engine deck, gear box access, driver & radio operators hatces.
After that it needs some weld seams, texturing and painting.

PzIII

Going to make this into an eastern front austf.M with L60 gun and full schurzen.

Abrams

Need to finish detailing, replace electronics and drive gear, also need to scratch build some suspension for it.

Leopard

Almost a finised tank here!!! but I think it would benefit from having some return rollers fitted.

I also need to fit a battle system into at least one of these tanks

Phew

rctank.de sell reasonably priced tops - sometimes prepainted, sometimes not.
I've a SU-122 conversion in mind for some point in the future - I'll be using the Imperial modelbau SU-85 kit as a start point, I'd be interested to see how you get along with your conversion 8)
I'm glad I only posted my plans for the next 6 months - you guys are making me tired just thinking about what you are planning for the year  :o ;D ;D ;D
