I can't find the Welsh Dragon Panther G anywhere from a US distributor. Any ideas?

Welcome....check out matomart.....great service....or phil at rctankwars....I think they both have the ir panthers in stock. Phil sells assembled dbu ( battle units that allow you to fight tamiya ir tanks). There is a club called NEAD(north east armored division) based out of NJ that holds battle days ever couple of months. They tend to hanging out on rc universe(rc tank area).....

As for the hl tanks.....The newer the design, the better the tank( hl has been stepping up their game with each new tank release).....I have 2 king tigers( just came out), the panthers are good and so are the kv1's. If you want a ir battle tank..the best is the tamiya....but that is a lot of cash in one shot. The hl tanks can be made to be close to the tamiyas but how close is up to your wallet. I have a hl king tigers with a dbu2( this uses a hobby radio and receiver) that cost me are $450 all set up and running. My E50 project with the db3 will be around $600....Things you end up buying down the road are 3:1 gearboxes and stronger motors( when you are IR battleing, every couple hits reduce power to the motors as a form of battle damage. The gear boxes and motors keep your tank from becoming a "pillbox"). You can get a dbu that runs off the hl radio and receiver from phil for around $135( I think)....add that to the cost of your tank and you are batteling.....If you just want to mess around in the backyard, the airsoft tanks are fun but most people do not battle them....

If you want to battle....stay away from all the metal stuff( except the gearboxes)....weight = less speed, metal tracks will slow you down and put more wear and tear on the running gear.
