Try putting in this Rolls of astro turf. That should do it ! There from a tennis court and the guys selling them for £9.99 for massive rolls of the stuff!!!!

Hi Might have a problem with astro turf ,it would be like running on a shag pile carpet ,not good it tends to get trapped in the tracks and burns the boards out.Long grass is bad to run on but the boards dosnt blow it just slows the tanks down.
Grass needs to very short to get the best running ,soil is the surface to run on .

Never thought of that Pete! But this stuff looks very short! Bouling green short! Another idea was to paint some boards green and run the tanks on them!

We can cut the grass as short as we like! Even dig and have dirt hills and roads! Was thinking of a way we could bring soil in the hut maybe Useing boards with sides on them and have soil compacted down on in them and paint the tops of the sides the same colour as the soil then you won't see the joins ! Could get one roll of the astro turf to cut up and use as fields you can pass through! What's your thought on that

if the astroturf is anything like the stuff on the all weather pitch were my dad works it is very short and ideal for tanks its more like a carpet

I think it will be I'm going to buy a roll just to try it out! If it's no good we can use if for fields and other things! But as with buggy racing the southport buggy track is all AstroTurf and is as flat as you can get!! No harm in trying it I can roll it out on my decking and drive the tank on it and see what happens ! They have over a 100 rolls so I don't think they will be running out of it!
