I would say the most powerful anti tank gun on a tracked platform in ww2 was the one in the jagdtiger....from what I have read, the 122mm might have been on par with the kingtigers 88mm.

My Money as a GUN as we understand it is the JagdTigers 128mm.........BUT if you look at the Sturm Tigers very short barrel for the rocket propelled projectile it
IS RIFLED.....so its either of these depending on your definition of 'Rifled Gun'.........You said Tank.....so that rules out the railway guns.....
BUT to answer 'Was Dora Rifled ?? '.....just look at the beautifully timed picture and tell me what else would cause the ' Patterns in the smoke '
other than rifling !!

NOW THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL MILITARY PHOTOGRAPH...............***********

Is one problem for me - rifled gun, i still understand, this is firearm of small - caliber to 20mm. Otherwise question it would, what was largest artillery weapon of the tanks in WW2. Saxondog,i`m right?

A rifled barrel ( really speaking of any caliber or size ) is a barrel with grooves cut or ground into it too allow the shot/shell to spin.
For my money and I think it was the biggest was the 12.8 KwK 44/L55 if memory serves me correctly.
I know one thing, this was irrefutably the most effective weapon mounted on a tank chassis due to the fact that at ranges of 2000 to 3000 meters the speed of the shell was phenominal. Penetrating 148mm of German armour sloped 30 deg at 2000 meters.
Big is one thing but to be effective and big is another.
Dora and Gustav were rifled but as stated before should not count in this discussion.

I rest my case for the Jagdtiger.
