Positives: Awesome kit. Most parts fit exactly with minimal trimming. Very good resin casting with great detail bolt heads and armor casting. wheels and suspension look excellent! Everything in this kit is excellently made. you can build one of several versions and extra parts included. glues up easily with epoxy or superglue after roughing up the mating surfaces. Perfect for static kit. Photo etch is fantastic and NOT flimsy. 3d detail etched in!

extra instructions on website. 3d instructions included as well in kit.

negatives: no metal hull/suspension/wheel kit/tracks available for easy RC conversion. 200+track links have to be hand drilled for pins(not included). links can be glued but hard to glue and set in correct position w/Ca glue. these links will not work for rc..too brittle. slightly warped barrel, easy to make one from brass tube.

This would be a super RC kit if a hull/suspension/wheels become available.

Very cool....the lower hull would be very easy....just cut out peaces of paper to match the kit lower hull, lay them out on a peace of sheet al and cut and bend it.....the wheels, adelers, drive wheels and suspension are tough...the tracks.... 8O......

Cool tank though, If hl made one I would buy it in a hartbeat. It would make a very good IR battler with the new rules about the apples coming out.

yep..it would be 'easy' to do the hull(not complex which is why some many popped out of the factories late war)...but I am too lazy to machine up a set of wheels, idlers, and drivers and then try to find correct track links...the suspension is just leaf springs and easy to make with spring steel and a sheet cutter.

I am sure asiatam will come out with the right stuff and save me much trouble (so i can focus on other projects)

I have to say again that the photo etch is stellar. thick stuff and well done. not some floppy thin sheet.

There is a 1/10 scale metal 38.....some of the detail is not accurate....but comes with all metal tracks and wheels and everything else...

You have peaked my interest....have you seen the site? It has some great detail shots of a hetzer rebuild...

http://www.vmmv.org/tanktk/hetzer/hetzer.htm

I also went looking for 1/16 rc builds and found this thread that has details of 3 guys making hetzers rc...some really good ideas( I may have to crack the piggy bank again)

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_91387 ... ey_/tm.htm

I also found this thread there some 1:25 tamiya panther tracks were used...

http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/view ... =1&t=23842

I like the ideas of finding smaller scale tracks and modding hl tiger wheels or using hl panzer 4 trackes with the wheels split.....

Sorry, I am not trying to thread jack, I just thought you might like these....

Thanks for posting the links. I have seen the Patton build and the rc one and there is also a European one pulled from lake or something...can;t find it... I did not want to use plastic panther tracks....

maybe I will rc the next one....marder III....and then that is really all the panzerjager/jagdpanzer I want to build.....

I Haven't seen that build before . The tracks are 1:25 Panther ones as is the drive sprocket its from the same tank. I did the same it is slightly under size tho. I also added Hetzer drive sprocket detail to my one to divert the eye he he . I like his gears some thing I could do to improve mine. I followed Panzer Pauls build for inspiration.

Image
My 1:25 idler slightly improved .

If I could afford / get metal tracks I would prefer them.I beleive Panzer Paul drilled his tracks out and used metal track pins.

Sorry not trying to steal the thread

Any chance you can snap some shots of the gun setup? Is it set up for multi axis movement?
