Boy O Boy! Christmas did come early!

Thanks Dog.....I have all that material already saved for future use.

All I need now is the Tamiya Recoil Unit the tool box, and other misc tools that will get shaved off the surface....then I am 100% set for painting and re assembly.

The Panther / Jagdpanther's have no moulded hull tools,their set is available for sell from Welshdragon as well. When I built my Asiatam/Heng Long Tiger I removed the tools,and the hatches replacing the tool with the Jagdpanther set.

but the Jagdpanther set is much less cost and really a better set as the tools are painted and fit will. As for the cables the local hardware store here sells cable in many sizes,I purchased 1m for about 2.50us and used the cable ends from my tank,carefully drilled out the ends and inserted the cables using some glue and heat shrink to bond the loop section.

SCORE! I look on ebay under Tamiya Recoil ans there there it is...a vendor in the U.S. selling Tamiya Recoil units for 20.00 with FREE shipping! SWEET! Just placed my order.
Might as well get the barrel elevation motor and just set it all up like the Tamiya version...easy enough.

Hiya Fritz , I alter the wiring looms on all of my HL's . i.e. swapping the pcb boards to the turret with extra connectors - it makes it much easier to work on . Try Fleabay for JST XL connectors , a bagfull only cost a few bucks I also added 2 pin male/female ones between the motors , LED's etc. . a crimping tool is a great investment too ,if you are going to do lots of tanks .

• * Dead transmitter and receiver boards can be cannabalized too

tip , when soldering the female ones , pull out the piece of wire from the block , then solder the wire on and just push it back in afterwards . The heat will melt the block otherwise . It can be fiddly , so one of those 'third hand' crocodile clip holders or spring loaded tweezers come in handy !

1. After I use a small Diode to bridge the RX-18 Board .....Do I use the number two PIn ( trigger strobe ) for my muzzle flash?

2. Can I use any LED or does it have to be the 'High Tension LED' unit?

3. I'm not using the AirSoft BB .....so do leave that socket empty or do I need that for the Tamiya
recoil nut?

Basically it removes the microswitch off the airsoft. I used the standard HL flash unit. Not certian how to do it with an LED

The HL flash unit recharges quickly enough to flash each time although not showing to well in the video. Only thing if you fire again too soon about 2 seconds you still get flash and recoil (track twitch) but no sound.

RATZ!!!!!!

I thought it was cuz I did not have a fully charged battery but this morning after charging my batt for 4.0 hrs anything 'MOTOR' driven would not run .....well at least the smoke unit and the drive motors....the L motor turns but not at full speed....only when in TURN mode....the R Motor wants to but has to be coaxed.

I put a straight 6.0 DC V to the smoke unit und it ran just fine.

Has anyone else seen this in a RX-18?

I'm pretty sure this board will work on the original NC 1700 battery...I think?

On using the Diode on the 18.....my board does not look quite like the one in the video....my 18 has a third smaller board that is soldered horizontally like an roof over what seems to be the motor control circuits.

Now I can turn up the volume and with my small bass 'woofer' speaker OH MAN! I love the new sounds! well....at least the Cannon Blast/echo/recoil sound and the mini G sounds cool too.
Too bad the barrel elevation sounds the same as the turret rotation. still Nice!
Heck...I may even put some misc metal bits and a few small ball bearings inside the drive sockets for extra effect?
