I ground a bit off of the ends of the idler pins to remove the slack , packs of 3mm grubscrews can be bought elsewhere ( they are not cheap )- or try an R/C shop . My local one gave me a handfull for free ! The B+Q nail trick is still the easiest way to get axles spot on and cost little .

Right going to this another go tomorrow night (weather permiting as I be working in the garden).

Another question. How do you adjust the suspension arms? as mine are all over the place.

As for the wheel axles going to cut down the HL bolts, and shorten the idler wheel to take up the slack. O ans shorten the HL plastic wheels.

Gearbox mounting whats best to mark the holes in our out of the hull?

A 1 . - Just bend them in the direction you require , don't bother disassembling them , it doesn't make any difference .

• I set the front and rear axles slightly lower to prevent the ' rocking horse ' effect . the swingarms should be just proud of the belly pan .

A 2 . try and mark them , or the ones you can reach , in situ - I used a fine tipped marker pen , removed the plate and centre popped / drilled / tapped the holes on the bench .

Be careful that the screw positions won't interfere with anything underneath - some brands of gearboxes can be worse than others .

Sorry another question what size allen key is it for those grub screws?

I've got a 2mm but too large. Saw a set in Asda last night which started from 1.5mm but didn't want to get them in case it was 1mm I needed.

They are 1.5mm..but i would realy get a good set of modeling drivers..not that stuff that looks like an "L" shape..

all they do is just round off after a few turns..and with sizes at 1.5 mmm that doesn't take too long to do at all..

With a good set of drivers you will get the screw set nice and tight with out any thing rounding off..

they are well worth the money and you will never look back.

Have to agree with caddyshack. Cheap tools are what they are. Use once & throw them away when you get annoyed with ruined screws/bolts etc. Good quality stuff lasts & fits better. Simple's...

No , no problem at all , It was up and running the same day !

Asiatam KV hull , late wheels , tracks and Asiatam 3 to 1 gearboxes

The smoker can't fit between these 'boxes , but meh , there's plenty of room elsewhere - you do have to remove the front angled armour 'lip' from the HL top end - a new bracket holds the top on via two captive hex screws on the underside . A very solid bit of kit . Softish suspension can be 'tweaked' just like the Tiger .
