Had three days off work, doctors orders, so managed to get some light tanking done.
Detailing to the upper deck has come along
But the real achievement is the fabrication of the rear stowage basket frames
The last on shows the quick release system
At least I have something to show for my poor old ribs (rugby slide that went wrong) (

Wow!....always liked the merkava...and in this scale you have done an amazing job...I would have had my arse kicked if I had put my hack saw on the dining table!

Fantastic work! Real hands on engineering and all the pain you must have endured while doing it ! Some great lateral thinking there too!

It has been a good week and i have restarted work on the merk after a prolonged leave of absence. I have remade the rear idler wheels, motor mounts, changed the suspension position, guide wheels, and reworked the front end of the chassis. I have also redesigned the rear door mechanism and the internal layout and with all of this work it doesn't look any different!
But it does work soooo much better.

The Wife and boys are back in Blighty for the summer and I have been busy working on the Merk. I'll post some photos later tonight, but right now I'm off to the post office to pick up some goodies from HobbyKing.

I'll start at the front where I have been busy repositioning the motors and build a new mount.
I also repositioned the headlight servo, switch from two micros to one standard. The micros have been re-used at the back.
If you look carefully you'll also see the new sabertooth esc from dimension engineering. I'll fit a smoke unit behind that at some point in the future
Next section houses a couple of speakers and the control box.
At the back I have reworked the rear door mechanism with the two micro servos and a landing gear mixer/slow unit which has freed up a lot of space.
I have decided to switch from lead acid to Li-Po batteries and this gives me more space in the back and so I have another thing to think about...........
What to put in the back that can be seen when the doors are open and internal light is on????????
As far as goodie go I now have a Turnigy 9ch 2.4Ghz transmitter which is really sweeeeet $56 from Hobby King
Birthday came early

I don't even know what to say to this build..... I love the Merkava, and the skill involved in building this thing is beyond me. I can't wait to see this thing run. What a beautifully executred build. Fantastic!!!
