Tamiya America still list the kit for sale and not discontinued. This is a good site for the detailed information,a look at the assembly manual and a better break down of the parts of the kit,it is the worst site to buy from.

That being said you might check with Steve at Welsh Dragon. Here is the link to Tamiya America, check out the assembly manual, and their suggested paints which may help you to plan your build and the residual cost, For a radio Hobby King is the best price but watch for sales to offset their sometimes over priced shipping.

Hope this works out for you,the King Tiger is a fine tank and their are some really good builds here on the forum That may help by reviewing and planning the upgrades, Plan your work and work your plan. Best Results especially for this expensive purchase. Best of luck,Sax

I'm grateful for the info and the link! I'm already studying the Manual! :] It's really silly to admit but... could you explain what's the difference between a full option and... the other option? Is it like all-in edition vs. limited edition (with fewer goodies)?

Hi,
"Full Option" just means the kit has the DMD and MF electronic units included along with speaker, gun flash units etc that allows all the sounds and motion, I think Tamiya still produce forward / reverse only, and static models that are obviously cheaper, so make sure you order the right kit.

Gents!

I ordered my Full Option Tamiya King Tiger yesterday. It cost me £490 at tankzone.co.uk which is the best price I managed to find for a new kit. It was about 4:30p.m. when I was ordering it (and a Friday as well) and my PayPal transaction is still showing "pending"... I think they will accept it on Monday when the store is open although I would have thought this would go through automatically straight away... I hope everything is fine with my order... :) What do you think?

BTW, I cannot find their opening hours anywhere. Anybody knows when tankzone.co.uk are open?

They replied and said it would take up to 10 working days (max) to have the KT delivered to me from Hong Kong or Germany as they haven't got one in stock in the UK. I said "go for it!" :D
