No problem - I really like this tank - 1:8 is just the right size, because you can still transport it around without any real trouble. Would really like to have a 1:6 because of the amount of stuff you can by for it, but its just to big.

Good luck with it - if you have any questions when you get it, feel free to ping me

cheers

Ordered the 1/8 Tiger tonight

Going to be "factory fresh condition", so to speak ;)

Will have dark yellow base colour with zimmeret coating applied, pyrotechnic 88mm gun, LED co-ax and bow MGs, plus wire mesh engine grills.

Level of detail on the "standard" tank is superb - I get opening hatches, engine deck details are cast aluminium, steel cables, steel spare track links plus full set of tools

Once again Heer Spencer has proved a true gent, really can`t recommend Mark-1-Tanks highly enough :D

Will the gun be the rotary magazine type? Hope you will post many pictures, Would be grateful for a look at the gun when it arrives. Hope your tank arrives soon,it is bound to be a fine tank.

met Mark Spencer at the beltring show a few years back bought my tamiya M26 really wanted a 1/6 or 1/8 Tiger or Panther, his workshop is a sight for sore eyes, you need a few quid to even think about it he really puts a lot of love into his creations, have you seen the 1/4 scale Tiger I wow! If you've got a small car maybe you need a trailer or and a small brick secure panzer stellung in your back yard, only thinking aloud!

Steen, like your Comment about all the stuff you can buy for a 1/6 tiger. Unfortunately you can buy all that stuff and it has me broke. What is the 1/8 tiger made from. Think i will need a trailer for mine as the only car i have with a boot/trunk is a mini. I will try loading it in though for short trips. Should be interesting.
Looking forward to seeing lots of pictures of the mark 1 tiger. What type of amo does it use?

Regards

Hi chaps

Wow, really appreciate the interest in the new toy :D

The pyrotechnic gun is a single shot affair, which consists of an explosive charge loaded into the breech of the 88mm gun and is then fired electrically (much like the real thing !!! ) - basically the same system they use on full sized tanks at War & Peace, Tankfest etc. for the battle re-enactments. Much louder & more impressive than a rotary magazine loaded with 9mm blanks !!!

The tank is constructed from GRP, the wheels, running gear, gears, and tracks are constructed from steel, the 88mm gun barrel has a steel inner liner for use with the pyrotechnic charge.

The spare tracks are also steel, as are the tow ropes, & the engine deck details are cast in aluminium, as will be the engine deck mesh grills.

All hatches open, and I will be having LEDs fitted to the co-ax & bow MGs - this means I can fire something inside of a show tent without taking out half the tent in the process :{

Will be picking her up in person this October from the man himself

If only you could post photos. There would be a lot of interest in this one. Did you try downloading photobucket? Would love to see the gun in action. Is it a black powder charge. Black powder can post havoc with your interior. I invested in a hydraulic table for working on my Tiger. It handles up to 500kg. They also do similar tables with Much lower capacity at lower prices. Very useful for moving and storage.

As far as I know it uses a clean burning charge, so there shouldn`t be any problems

What model of Tiger will yours be, early, middle or late like mine ???
