I do not know for sure that they will ship overseas, but try Mato Toys over here in Canada. It is $40 plus shipping for the S&S upgrade, or $45 if you want an RX18 board included. The website is

Hope this helps!

Hello thwobble,
welcome to the hobby!
It sounds like you may have a bad example - my first tank was the Heng Long Panther, and it worked really well (altho the 2 speed controls weren't all that great, it was still easy to drive!)
I've bought over 20 more tanks since, so I can comfortably second/third/forth all the suggestions regarding swapping out the non S&S controls in favour of the S&S system.
If you want to take things further, there are a multitude of other upgrades out there - electronics, gearboxes, metal tracks etc.
I hope your son enjoys his present as much as the rest of us enjoy our toys - as/when it breaks (and lets be honest - a child will always manage to break what an adult considers to be robust!), or you feel the need for upgrades - remember that we are always here to help!
