Hi Malc,
The colour probably isn't exactly correct, but I like it and will do my Tiger the same.

Nice job sir. Some great looking details there.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Re: HL Panzer III
Well, after the success of the elmod install on my tiger the PzIII is now getting the same treatment. I will now have 2 RX18s and an 'anti-HL jerk' board that are looking for a new home.

Re: HL Panzer III
Good luck with the elmod in the panzer 111. I have given up on mine for now. Which elevation unit are you using. I am having trouble with the Asiatam in the panzer 111. faulty turret motor also. Good on to one of the rx18 just in Case you have problems. Panzer 111 elevation and recoil on mine was not smooth and think it contributed to a burn out on my board.
Very Very nice job on those models. Mine That 88.

Re: HL Panzer III
Hi John,
I'm also using the Asiatam recoil, works fine with RX18 and have the same in tiger with the elmod with no problems. I like the RX18 but after using elmod it is a completly different drive that I now neglect my favorite little tank.

Re: HL Panzer III
Did you need to do any modifications to the part of the recoil holding the gun. My gun barrel is different to yours also. I will sort it out some day. Works well with the Tiger. Elmod is far better than the RX18 as you say.

Re: HL Panzer III
I think the colour looks, fine not too far from original bovvy Tiger before repaint, that older paint had darkened and browned,so your colour is somewhere between the two,I asked for a look of your Pz 3 on your Tiger thread,so now I have, and I like it,I want one,

Re: HL Panzer III
Thanks guys,
I really do like this little tank and think that it deserves an elmod upgrade. As for my Asiatam recoil units I have extensively modified them (not for the faint hearted) it takes alot of patience to get the angles correct. As I'm a self confessed perfectionist, I wanted the correct elevation and depression on both my tanks. With trial and error I have come up with a fix, it involves removing the little steel crank from the unit pull off the plastic gear and make a new crank from a nail making the bend a little bigger which will give a bigger range of elevation. But be aware that you must then totally modify the mantlet mount. I don't have an easy answer, drill out the holes on the white plastic plates to about 7mm to allow for LOTS of adjustment then with a big flat washer tighten slightly and find the 'sweet spot' then a little glue to hold the position. Then drill another small hole forward to place another little screw to hold the whole thing in the correct position.
This is what worked for me, but as I said it was trial and error and worked very well on the PzIII so made the tiger mod a bit easier. It is diffinately worth it to get the correct elevation!
