HI Pete,

Yep saw that. Looks like it was a standard mod on most german tanks.
I've got pics of the same thing on PzIII's & IV's.

Here's another view of the sight and side mud gaurds.
You have nothing to fear, but fear its self. Or maybe a KT too!

Chequered plate front mud guards without the folding side extensions aswell.
I think we have the same book.  ;) ;D

Some of the first "African" Tigers had the modified front mud flaps and repositioned lights.
