Hey thanks, it is turning into a mess. The respective families are fighting over who cares for the son and if he should be raised in England or Southern California. I'm staying away from all that stuff. The kid can make up his own mind at 12 anyway. Next will be NATO Camo. The last photo shows the 1/35 scale paint practice model.

I enjoyed this kit conversion build and just ordered another one to build with my nephew during his visits over the course of the coming year. This is a favorite cold war tank and for me more interesting than the Hooben T-55 kit.

Hi
I'm curious about reports of a sheet of etched parts, can you confirm this and what does it consist of?

Thanks

Bottom line, no quality photo etched parts to be found in the box.

In my kit the alleged sheet of etched metal parts was either pretty much a disappointment or missing.

The only part that came close to matching Tamiya's marketing buz description was just a little black metal screen to fit over the 1977 plastic kit's textured engine vent screen, previously molded into the deck.

The new kit parts are a new metal screen that sits on top of the old molded plastic texture in a new plastic frame.

The part you ask about is just a piece of kinda clunky black metal window screen to fit over the engine air vent.

Not sure what the question is, but for sure there were no PE parts in the kit I received. Nor do the instructions mention any during assembly steps or in the parts list.

Thanks, this cold war model is a nice change from the WWII armor models. Perhaps later in the year I will build another painted in fall camo.
