Thank you for the update David, I have just leafed through "Wolfgang Schneider's Tigers in Combat 11" and he states that on 13May 1943 the Regiment was fielding
Tiger 1s---------- S01--
---------------------S10- S11- S12- S13,
---------------------S20- S21- S22- S23,
---------------------S30- S31- S32,
---------------------S40- S41- S42

Like you he ignores the Panzer 111s
The next major change in numbering being in August 1943.
There is little in the way of camouflage information but the numbers certainly appears to endorse your research.

The unit didn't put an "S" in their numbers except in the very first organisation.
We have a photo of "33". It could have arrived in June, I suppose.
There are no known photos of the 4th platoon, or of any numbers ending in "0" from this time.

I'm afraid we just don't have enough photos to be sure about the May organisation table. But he's definitely wrong about the original numbers.

I want to revise my comment about turret bins. GD had exactly three of the "standard" bins. They were on Tigers:
  • S01 the Befehlstiger. It was probably numbered "1" from March onwards.
"21" which didn't have any number at first, then it was probably "3" until May.
S12 which became 23 in May, don't know what number it had from March to May.
